jacky, if you haven't seen it before I know there are some who use granary to generate RSS/Atom feeds from their h-feeds instead of building them separately.
#
chrisaldrich
I'm not sure if anyone has something that will convert to JSONfeed though....

granary has h-feed to jsonfeed support!
#
jacky
I've made a note to opt for that tbh

Okay, so now any archive on my site, like https://david.shanske.com/2019/09/23/map/ works as a map

wow scrollback from the weekend! I was a bit otherwise pre-occupied 🙂

lolol indieweb blue checkmarks are an amazing hilarious and maybe actually serious idea
#
[tantek]
we can all give each other blue checkmarks as we see fit on each others's websites 😂
#
[tantek]
could be a nice visualization of vouching
#
[tantek]
if you show someone's icon/name with a blue checkmark on your site, that could be used to mean you "vouch" for them, and thus others could use them as a vouch link when sending you a webmention

so… rel->contact?
#
[jgmac1106]
I could add a blue check mark to people on my following page.. I use colleague and muse mainly... Not sure what the blue check signifies that my following page doesn't already
#
beko
👍
#
[jgmac1106]
... Maybe if someone sends me a webmention and they are on my following page the checkmark gets displayed?... But i can't even display webmentions yet... So long time off
#
beko
that's no emoji tho. would require some svg. mayhap there is something in https://github.com/pfefferle/openwebicons
#
Loqi
[pfefferle] openwebicons: A font!
#
[jgmac1106]
And it don't gotta be blue or a checkmark
#
[jgmac1106]
Even though noo one does anything with XFN and nothing will display the data... I donworry "uh-oh what if someone realizes they are just a colleague and not a muse"
#
beko
backs away slowly
#
[tantek]
lololol you choose your own level of personal exposure
#
[tantek]
yes rel=contact could be useful for this
#
[tantek]
I personally like rel=met in combination because you are vouching for their physical existence (at some point in time)
#
[tantek]
as opposed to say, all the Twitter bots

<[tantek] "yes rel=contact could be useful "> Is there a master list of all of those we can look all of them up? I see them sort of scattered around all over the place.
#
[jgmac1106]
I know it sounds wrong, but I guess an assignment is an event with a start and end (due date) but I am going to create a self guided gradebook where people RSVP (thats the part that is semantically wrong..but it works) to assignments as they hand them in...cc [kenbauer]

[jgmac1106] yup sounds like a bit of semantic mis-use for the sake of syntactic convenience. always a bad path to go down as you end up diluting (at best) the syntax, and at worse abusing it and adding noise

if I do show that kind of info on my site, I'd want it to be gated
#
jacky
or at least some kind of ACL
#
jacky
especially for a microsub client
#
[tantek]
jacky, if you mean the XFN stuff, I now agree. I think maybe some coarse information like contact vs met etc. is ok "publicly" however anything more I'm now more skeptical of than not.
#
[tantek]
I kinda feel like the whole thing needs to be rethought / redesigned in the context of today's social media pitfalls
