# [schmarty] [Mat_Rosero] ++ it's a website and it's yours! 🎉
# [Mat_Rosero] it’s mostly been a place to send people when they want to see sites I’ve done. And I have a blog about tv shows I haven’t been very consist posting to for years. I used to post to it a lot.

# [chrisaldrich] What's the next thing you want to do with or add to your personal site?
# [Mat_Rosero] hmmm… well, very recently I added a space to translate to spanish (I’m Costa Rica but it’s always been in english), so in practical terms, shoudl translate everything I have there. I also would like have better content on there, but I fall victim to the “someone else has probably already said this and better” mentality
# [Mat_Rosero] I’d like for it to be up to date with projects I’m working on, and I’d like a space that isn’t just a portfolio
# [chrisaldrich] Your beautiful /portfolio reminds me that I need to revisit improving my own.
# [Mat_Rosero] thank you!
# [chrisaldrich] I always recommend not worrying about someone saying something "better", because as a learner, reading things from multiple perspectives and modes of communication is often what helps me out most. plurality++
# [chrisaldrich] What non-portfolio sorts of things would you like to add? Articles or notes perhaps?
# [Mat_Rosero] I recently started teaching HTML + CSS on an online master’s degree and that helped me a lot to sort of…. organize the way think about code
# [Mat_Rosero] so maybe along those lines
# [chrisaldrich] What is education?
# Loqi IndieWeb for Education is the application of indieweb principles to one's personal site with a particular emphasis on use cases for education, pedagogy, research, academic samizdat, and collaboration https://indieweb.org/education
# [chrisaldrich] You might consider adding yourself to the examples on that page ^^ and you might find some inspiration there too.
# [Mat_Rosero] I also realized there’s not that many places to read about let’s say modern CSS in Spanish. And I’m bilingual, so for ME that’s not a problem, but for people that aren’t, it is.
# [Mat_Rosero] So maybe writing in spanish would be good
# [chrisaldrich] My Spanish is passing at best. I've been tempted to do some more translations of content on the IndieWeb wiki, but after the revelations about Scots Wikipedia yesterday I'm even more reticent than before...
# [Mat_Rosero] yeah, that’s complicated
# [Mat_Rosero] translating existing content is hard
# jamietanna[m] [Ana_rodrigues]++ for a great post, and thanks for the mention for my blog post ☺
# [Mat_Rosero] so I have a question: what are the thoughts on having your own stuff on one personal domain, versus having several different ones? Like having a portfolio on one and maybe a blog in another.
# [chrisaldrich] What is multi-site indieweb?
# Loqi Multi-site Indieweb is a hybrid approach to Indieweb in which a wide range of people have two (or more) indieweb enabled platforms for a multitude of reasons https://indieweb.org/multi-site_indieweb
# [Mat_Rosero] thanks you [chrisaldrich]
# [chrisaldrich] There are some examples and discussion there ^^, though I'm sure it doesn't cover every case.

# [Mat_Rosero] I already have a split between me as a designer/developer and me as a person that likes to talk about tv shows and books (this one is quite silly sometimes, so I’d rather separate them) 😁

# [chrisaldrich] [Mat_Rosero] Happy to help. Let us know if you need anything and feel free to join us at any of the upcoming events: https://events.indieweb.org/
# [manton] [Mat_Rosero] My 2 cents: having multiple sites can be useful, but it’s often easier to have a single blog where “most posts” go. I’ve noticed that when someone has multiple blogs, there’s a new kind of friction in the writing process just figuring out where to post something. This is why I personally post almost everything on my personal blog, whether that’s related to work or a TV show or posting photos.
# [Mat_Rosero] Yeah, that’s a good point

# [Ana_Rodrigues] Welcome [Mat_Rosero] ! This made my day 😌 I like your website too - looking forward to seeing what you do next!
# [Ana_Rodrigues] I don’t have multiple blogs but I’ve struggled in the past with the bilingual aspect. I decided to keep both languages in the same website/blog as I couldn’t justify creating a blog just to write in Portuguese.
# [Ana_Rodrigues] But translating is indeed hard. I recently translated a post of mine and I struggled a lot.

# [KevinMarks] [Mat_Rosero] it is a tricky one. It comes down to how you think of your different publics to some extent. I have a lot of different subdomains and silo accounts, but I also wrote this a while ago http://epeus.blogspot.com/2004/07/call-off-search.html
# [Mat_Rosero] Like for instance, I think one thing would be if I wanted a blog about dev topics, another for potential clients. Not sure if that would be better separate or together.
# [KevinMarks] What you want to share in different places is up to you, and the things that danah said about it a while ago still holds true. https://www.danah.org/papers/talks/PennState2009.html
