Anyone seeing issues with Monocle / indieauth.com? I'm seeing `Resolving timed out after 2512 milliseconds` and errors failing to exchange authorization codes so can't log in

Does anyone have any issues calling the Webmention.io API?
#
[capjamesg]
My Python script keeps timing out on retrieval of my webmentions but I can access them fine via the browser.
#
[capjamesg]
Never mind. It seems to work now.

capjamesg it's likely related, as they're hosted on Aaronpk's infrastructure and the usual /SPOA

Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
#
[capjamesg]
That thought came to mind. It seems as if loading times vary. I got it to work but I didn't make any changes to my code.

Hello, all. Is there any solution to using microformats2 with a client rendered site?

zack1: good question! this is going to be pretty developer-term heavy so i'm going to answer in #indieweb-dev ! we like to keep the main room open for newcomers and high-level discussion.
#
zack1
Sorry, dumb question? How do I get to #indieweb-dev? I'm on https://chat.indieweb.org and I don't see it in the channel list on the left
#
zack1
Oh derp. There's a #dev. I guess that's what you meant
#
[schmarty]
ah! yes, sorry. i guessed that you were coming from IRC where it's #indieweb-dev. the #indieweb-dev channel is right for the web interface!

jacky
so I'm preparing to work on my microcast
#
jacky
and I'm just fully groking all of the woes of feeds
#
jacky
specifically the issues similar to the ones mentioned about comic feeds
#
jacky
do I give people a full directory listing? do I keep it reduced to the most recent episodes? etc
#
aaronpk
IIRC apple will only show the current contents of the feed
#
aaronpk
so if you remove old episodes people won't be able to find them unless their player has cached the old ones too and also doesn't delete them
#
jacky
hmm okay
#
jacky
I'm thinking about making a feed that only has like a fixed amount (like ~3 months worth) and then having another feed that'd always give back everything
#
jacky
_or_ only giving netcast directories a feed that'll be short and maybe hint in the show notes a link to get older episodes
#
jacky
that latter is what I've seen done by other networks

I'm just thinking again about how a decent social reader really could solve a lot

it's fine to make the feed list only the most recent episodes, but old links should keep working :)
#
sebbu
worse case, they should transparently redirect to a new url with the (same or updated) content
