[chrisaldrich] I remember there was a history app about 8 years ago that would notify you of interesting tidbits like that while driving around. Wish I could remember its name, but apropos of the date, it regularly gave me updates of filming locations for the movie Halloween as I used to drive around my neighborhood, or notifications about the mansion from Chinatown.

[chrisaldrich] Not many were adding content to it to make the database big enough for it to be useful, so after a while it became very repetitive and annoying.

[chrisaldrich] those sorts of features need to be broad and deep and remember how often they're sending you the same notifications....
