[timothy_chambe]↩️ So I think anyone who uses brid.gy should have a a mastodon account in the format of `@username@example.com` and happy to add any voices writing on #indieweb that federate to those accounts on the page...
jmac_, rknLA_, bigbluehat, BigShip0, mavidser, genehack, qa5, alex11, mattl, shoesNsocks and [tw2113_Slack_] joined the channel
vilhalmerassuming an in person event occurs at some point again it'd be cool to have physical badges that log into your side with indieauth and then when you meet people you can like touch them together and they send webmentions to the opposite person
jackytbh though if it was easy to take that paper board of events and like 'digitize' it (maybe some sort of semi-smart stickers with QR codes that can auto-link to a etherpad/wiki?) then it'd be even easier
alex11i just get confused by how many projects there are and what project does what functionality and what is built off other projects (i think agregore is based on beaker) vs what's independent and how much overlap there is between concepts and not knowing a lot of basic concepts in the first place
[snarfed]anyway, agreed, it could definitely be better, but it’s one of the first serious attempts i’ve seen to review the space overall, which is good
chiragdiwhat is a good fediverse reader for iPhone? I've been using Fedilab for android, which is pretty slick. Now I'm curious about good options for the iPhone
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "good fediverse reader for iPhone" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "good fediverse reader for iPhone is ____", a sentence describing the term)
alex11my issue with fb isn't even necessarily the tracking and targeted ads (which i think is an important conversation that should be had), it's the goalpost shifting the moat building
alex11everyone else is like, "look at all these exciting things we can do with decentralization and indieweb!" and i come along and i'm like complain complain complain complain fuck this person fuck that person
lahackerone takeaway from the chat earlier is that these technologies (IPFS/Hyper) are being positioned as replacements and not extensions; the assumption being that the web is funadmentally broken
lahackeri asked how i might get started with an ipfs.js or like on my site or in my browser extension.. someone brought up WebRTC.. then someone yadda yadda'd "STUN server".. then someone went on "yeah it'd be nice if everyone had a little server of their own"..
lahackeri mentioned something along the lines of "so you've heard of oauth, right? [YEAH] [SURE] so one of our guys made it so that you can use your website as an identifier"
