there some overlap between (1) rethinking privacy as a community norm (community-safe privacy, rather than individual-responsibility privacy per https://www.phirephoenix.com/blog/2021-05-03/privacy), (2) private / friends-only posts, and (3) defaulting /responses (user-visible effects/UX of "webmentions") to a friends invitation model, rather reactive block/moderate model.

haven't come to any conclusion or insights yet, it just feels like there's something in that intersection/overlap of those three things that ties them together, and may provide a more humanly manageable, safer (maybe even more joyful) model of publishing and interacting with posts.
