Loqislow web is a movement based on deliberately designed web sites focused on more well user-paced experiences instead of real-time, reactive, or frantic experiences, and has principles similar to and compatible with IndieWeb principles https://indieweb.org/slow_web
[tantek]^ [chrisaldrich] that sorta sounds like what you're talking about re: "positive and proactive examples as a means to help people working on their own consumption patterns"
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "calm technology" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "calm technology is ____", a sentence describing the term)
@pookleblinky20 years ago, you would have your own website, on which you'd put pictures. Other people could point *their* website to your pictures, instead of putting them on their own website. This was called "hot linking" (twitter.com/_/status/1486584454558756867)

LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "reblogging" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "reblogging is ____", a sentence describing the term)
LoqiA repost on the indieweb is a post that is purely a 100% re-publication of another (typically someone else’s) post. The act of reposting is an umbrella term that covers the general practice of republishing another post typically on the same service or silo, and sometimes across sites https://indieweb.org/reblog
[James_Van_Dyne]Hotlinking…haven't thought of that in years. Teenage me was always had fun replacing images of mine that were being hotlinked with…unexpected images. It usually solved the problem.

[tw2113_Slack_][James_Van_Dyne] now we call it reposting and sharing and encourage it all, especially since it’s not using our own hosting’s bandwidth thanks to it being on social media sites
kinduffi have 2 endgoals: first to condense all my activity in one place (github stars, liked youtube videos, etc), second to be able to write without too much structure, like being out of the box and be able to have a digital garden of sorts to publish
capjamesg[d]That's helpful to know. Thank you for sharing! I write notes on my site as a form of unstructured expression and love doing so. There are plenty of people here who have tried / actively use digital gardens, too.
LoqiA commonplace book (or commonplaces) are a way to compile and store knowledge, usually by writing information into books, notebooks, card catalogs, or in more modern settings on one's own website https://indieweb.org/digital_garden
capjamesg[d]Like jacky said, microformats are a good way to make your site interoperable. They will also help you if you want to publish GitHub stars / issue comments on your site, too.
capjamesg[d]There is a tool called brid.gy that lets you turn posts on your site to GitHub issues and stars. [snarfed] here is the core maintainer, too 🙂
[snarfed]oh fun, kinduff I noticed that I read your post https://kinduff.com/2022/01/04/the-weight-of-the-clipboard/ a while back. great post, I feel the same way! I think because most OSes don't easily expose clipboard history, so the "weight" is maybe a fear that you'll accidentally copy something else and lose the current clipboard contents
capjamesg[d]I often copy the URL to something like my email account after I have copied something important. It's a strange habit but I just don't like having "important" things on my clipboard for too long (especially passwords).
[aciccarello]Yo no, pero he visitado muchas veces. Vivo en San Diego. I've been working on learning spanish. I've noticed that there's a lot of projects which could use localization to spanish but have been hesitant to try myself.
[Joe_Crawford]Welcome [aciccarello] - Tambien vivo en San Diego pero English is my first language and mi espanol es muy malo. I do have a fair amount of experience in PHP localization files via POEdit and gettext and such. I’m traveling this week but back in town next week.
[tantek]indeed, interesting followup from OP: "The problem with this is that, even though the Facebook Page was simply mirroring the content on the blog, most of the interactions with actual bands and fans was via the Facebook page, not the blog."
[KevinMarks]I use the SwiftKey keyboard on android because it gives me a 10 clipboard history, which makes it easier than my Mac to copy the quote and the link I want to share
