Block protocol. https://blockprotocol.org/ On first glance, this could be quite transformative.
#
j12t
Also competes with microformats :-)

Some discussion of that in #indieweb-dev earlier today
#
[tantek]
j12t "protocols" better discussed in #indieweb-dev πŸ™‚ also feel free to chime-in: https://twitter.com/_/status/1486832840272584707

@johnallsopp
@dalmaer Will it use web components? Will it use microformats. Or will they reinvent a whole bunch of wheels here?

@kinduff thanks for mentioning n8n as IFTTT alternative, wasn’t aware of it and looks like something I’d want to self-host.
#
[tantek]
what is n8n
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "n8n" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "n8n is ____", a sentence describing the term)

im using jekyll too, love it, what do you use now capjamesg[d]?
#
capjamesg[d]
kinduff I built my own generator. I decided that I wanted two versions of my site with different themes and I figured it would be "easier" just to build my own generator. It probably wasn't the easiest path but I learned a lot doing it.

Hi [jeremycherfas], nice to meet you πŸ™‚
#

Nice to meet you too.
#

I don't know anyone else in Rome with any interest in IndieWeb
#
[Francesco_Impr]
It's a little known topic here
#

I went to a meeting up at Termini and tried to talk to some people there, mostly WordPress developers, and nobody seemed interested or even worried about silos.
#
kinduff
are there any indiedevs in Madrid?

#
[Grant_Hutchins]
I feel a lot of friction when it comes to interacting with people on social silos outside my personal site, and I wish I didn't. I don't like hopping into discussions on Twitter and knowing that I don't yet have a good solution for those comments to end up on my personal site (currently on micro.blog)

does micro.blog have an API?

[schmarty]
kinduff: micro.blog has support for several APIs! what you are looking for in particular?
#
kinduff
πŸ™ˆ I just found this, sorry! https://help.micro.blog/t/api-overview/93
#
Loqi
hey [schmarty] kinduff, it seems like this conversation is more appropriate for #indieweb-dev (APIs, API)
#
kinduff
true loqi, thanks!
#
[schmarty]
Haha, perfect! And yeah we can head to #indieweb-dev for more API stuff. Thanks Loqi not.

Would we expect that https://www.jvt.me/mf2/2022/01/rnwpa/ which is a like of a Tweet, which mentions edent's blog post, shows up as a mention, rather than a like of his post?

Yes sounds right
#
jamietanna
That's what I thought - what's the intent behind it not being a like instead? It looks like Bridgy does it as a like (if I'm reading it right?) https://brid.gy/log?start_time=1643383195&key=agdicmlkLWd5ck4LEghSZXNwb25zZSJAdGFnOnR3aXR0ZXIuY29tLDIwMTM6MTQ4NzA3MDUwNTc5NDQyMDc0MV9mYXZvcml0ZWRfYnlfMjI5MjUzMTA5OAw
#
[snarfed]
Heh, Bridgy isn't a normal webmention "relay," its job is to translate silo interactions
#
[snarfed]
I can look at this one though!
#
[snarfed]
Bridgy is interpreting the tweet https://twitter.com/edent/status/1487070505794420741 as a syndication, so it's backfeeding likes to it
#
@edent
Interesting notification from @ThePracticalDev. I took a look at the plagiarised post via the Wayback Machine - the dolt hadn't even changed my name in the example text! Anyway, you can read my original at https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2021/12/an-nft-without-a-blockchain-no-gas-fees-no-eth/ https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FKMiU-gXEAkOSN7.png
(twitter.com/_/status/1487070505794420741)
#
[snarfed]
Key point there is that Bridgy is sending a wm "from" https://twitter.com/edent/status/1487070505794420741#favorited-by-2292531098 , _not_ "from" https://www.jvt.me/mf2/2022/01/rnwpa/ , since it only backfeeds silo responses

This felt very IndieWeb-resonant:
#
@solarpunk_girl
Just got an email β€œhelp shape the metaverse for good”. I think this sort of behaviour makes the #techforgood scene lack teeth. If Big Tech defines the territory and tech activists imagine a new world by defining ethical principles on the metaverse then we’re all doomed.
