@kossnocorpIn light of recent Twitter changes, going further, I'm going to focus on mediums that I 100% control. Meaning my own Mastodon instance, self-hosted blog, and newsletter. It sucks investing a decade into Twitter and having to pay so I can reach my friends. (twitter.com/_/status/1645255399875174400)
[timothy_chambe]Take a look at these two web applications, obviously using the same code for each. I may be in a position to offer some thoughts on development of these further. Are there any things they could add here to be more Indieweb friendly?
LoqiIndieWeb friendly refers to online services interoperating by supporting open formats, protocols, and IndieWeb building-blocks as well as enabling users to transition to their own personal sites, and an implementation guide for social networks to interconnect with the IndieWeb https://indieweb.org/friendly
[tantek][timothy_chambe] how do those web apps stack up according to the How section there ^ ? https://indieweb.org/friendly#How — those are good basics to start with, and then we can work on figuring out what makes sense for their individual use-cases
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "static.app" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "static.app is ____", a sentence describing the term)
corlaezstatic.app is a hosting solution for static sites. It offers a drag and drop publishing mechanism and provides a subdomain, SSL certificates, and an online editor. A free tier is available. https://static.app
capjamesg"But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there. And you never meet the people. You never shake their hands. You never hear their story or tell yours. But somehow, in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something’s transmitted there."
Loqi🛠️ A creator on the IndieWeb is someone who owns their domain, uses it as their primary identity on the web, and creates (content, design, user experience, or code) for that personal site, openly sharing at least some of those creations https://indieweb.org/Creator
LoqiIndigenous is a set of native apps for iOS, Android currently in beta that supports posting your website using Micropub and a built-in reader that supports Microsub and ActivityPub (Android only) https://indieweb.org/IndiePass

rossmcdwondering if anyone has advice on using 'notes' versus 'reviews' to record thoughts on coffee for example - as I could not find an example of review on the wiki Micropub page but could find examples of 'watch' and 'play' etc?
[snarfed]h-review microformats specifically may be rare, but I don't know that we have any consuming implementations, so arguably skip that for now, and/or move to #microformats
rossmcdhmmm - and thinking about it I like the idea of notes - multi purpose and I am not 'reviewing' a coffee as such as trying to make a note that I subjectively liked it (that sits well in my mind at least:-))
@netdivermag@t Wowie this so exciting tho I was dormant in past few years (health is ok) I am getting ready for a new publishing project and indie as you know is important to me. May I ping you to ask questions or url to how I can participate? (twitter.com/_/status/1645782306618060801)
[tantek]Is the model spot-on? Or are such models inevitably doomed down the path of B2B driven designs more for "enterprise" than for independent users? (Since that's where chasing revenue growth leads such models)
benpate[m]Not necessarily financially, but “mindshare-ily”. For anything to replace Twitter (and the rest) they’ll need to be BETTER than corp-media in the eyes of regular users.
benpate[m]Sorry if I’m off topic, I’m in two Matrix chats right now, and moonlighting as a pirate in video game. Just vanquished a bunch of skeletons ;)
[tantek]anyway yeah this is more #indieweb-chat, unless you're using WordPress for your personal site and looking to improve it in which case #indieweb-wordpress is more appropriate
