petermolnar About 8 years ago I deactivated my FB and left it like that for years. I had to re-enable it to manage a page (long story), but the algorithm completely forgot about me - and so did people. It's interesting to see what happens if you leave your account alone long enough, or if you unfollow nearly everyone, which latter is the case for me on instagram, and it's bombarding my feed with a shitton of ads.
