#capjamesgWhat about hosting an open Discord room in which people can share when they make coffee?
#capjamesgMay be an interesting anchor for people to serendipitously meet that may not otherwise.
#capjamesgContext that wasn't documented: The idea of livestreaming making coffee has come up twice this week.

#starrwulfeThere was someone in Japan that actually did that during the pandemic. A few times a week he'd just livestream a feed from his coffee shop in my old neighborhood and you'd see him roasting beans or cleaning a grinder before business hours and then he'd be running back and forth outside to make orders and serve people -- no one was allowed inside due to the health unknowns at the time.
#aaronpki don't really want to tie this to discord
#[tantek]starrwulfe do you use Matrix with your personal website?
#starrwulfeNope. At least not yet. I was investigating Matrix comments at one point but decided to work on getting Webmentions, ActivityPub and ATProto going first.
#mahboubine[tantek]: how would you use matrix in a site?
#[tantek]mahboubine, there is a time-honored history of folks using chat (whatever service or standard) as a UI for posting to their personal websites, and in some cases seeing replies/notifications, and in others as a reader!
#starrwulfeMahboubine -- Long range I'd like to use Matrix (and Telegram) to post to my site and get notifications. Perhaps even reply to comments, all as an IM for myself. Not necessarily thinking about outward-facing comminications though
#[tantek]oops sorry for the acronym. I used to use Google Talk (the original chat app, when that was a thing) to post to Twitter and read others Tweets

#[Al_Abut]Ooo, mine too. Have you had the demo yet? I had to reschedule mine for Mon.
#[Al_Abut]Just scrolled back to realize youβre probably joking π€¦ but Iβm really curious about the productivity use cases.
#[tantek][Al_Abut] there are very few productivity use-cases that require 3D (lol productivity UIs being stuck in the 1990s, Google Apps etc.) or that require that level of privacy.
