LoqiThe 1990s was a decade that saw the invention and growth of the web, dominated by independent websites, as well as nascent silos like Geocities, with a particular brightly colored aesthetic that would come to define the era like under construction graphics, dancing animals, site counters, ornate backgrounds, and guest books https://indieweb.org/1990s
[Al_Abut]@alex++ love your blog post about blog posts! Super meta but honestly much-needed for me to break out of a rut. I’ve had a bunch of long form drafts reach the almost complete stage and struggled for ideas for short fun ones.
[tantek]feels good to post about something you've figured out so it's not stuck in your head, and other people can use it and build or improve upon it. like once you've posted about it, there's no more worrying about what if you forget to tell someone. you can let it go. curious if anyone has similar (or different!) feelings when you post about something you've (recently) figured out.

[contact898]I do! And it also makes it easy to answer frequent questions. A lot of my writing is just there for me to link to a post instead of explaining the same thing over and over again
hello1for some context, I just became a digital arts teacher (like literally three weeks ago, haha) but like come from the world of audio/ radio/ all things sound, so just not really a digital artist in like the traditional visual arts sense of that word most people think of
hello1so slightly feel like i been failing them not like being able to give them kind of the inspiration i feel like they deserve - but i got to say, this has a been a game changer

hello1i feel like its just the kind of digital realness i feared id not see again since i kind of tapped out online a few years back just too tired of like the overhlming amount of "content" online haha
capjamesgI think a lot of people here feel a sense of malaise with the way the web is. Having your own website is a way to carve out your own corner on the web to be you, and share ideas on your own platform.
hello1no totally - i feel like i have so many frikken like unfinished twine websites and like obsidian projects I just been a bit too like adhd and all over the place with to eve rjust post, but now seeing this im so reinvigorated
hello1i wanted to make a like a little interactie fun website for the kids for the syllabus (which is even how i landed here in the frist place lmao) but like i gotta take the advice myself you know
hello1i like what's erally been stopping me (and I know this sounds dumb) is just theres so many options of like what to use that i feel like paralyzed in just chooseing like one/ a few for the time and going with it
hello1although i really love what you guys said about "make what you need" - its somethigng i forget all the time, and making me remeber whats important
[jeremycherfas]Hello1 let me agree with everyone that your site looks good and is fun. Also nice to see another podcast/radio person here. Have you stopped audio work?
[qubyte]Phew. Finally got a post out about IndieWebCamp Brighton 2024. Definitely a case of _this’ll have to do_ though. I always struggle with structure once I get above one paragraph. 😅 https://qubyte.codes/blog/indiewebcamp-brighton-2024
