[tantek]e.g. "Film & TV" — we don't post a lot of these ourselves, however, as a community we basically post ("drop") a new season of the episodic IndieWebCamp Sessions "TV series"
copheeso for the uni assignment i mentioned before, the assignment brief wants us to do a social computing guide which dives deep into one form of social technology + critically analyse it in some way –– (the suggestions are mostly for mainstream social media/data collection apps)
copheewondering if anyone would like to contribute some of their thoughts on social media + indieweb! (I wholeheartedly agree with this page 😂 https://indieweb.org/social_media)
copheei think i want my final project to be an easy-to-read + visually engaging guide to explain what indieweb is and why it's awesome and how people can join the movement
capjamesgcophee[d] I'm happy to help to the extent I can! It may be more effective to ask specific questions about social media to help guide your research, though. I'm sure a lot of us have a lot of thoughts on social media 😄
capjamesgIf you are looking for a long-form personal response that you can use in your research, feel free to email me with your questions and I'm happy to help! (readers [at] jamesg [dot] blog)
copheeI'm going to try to collect some opinions from you guys + people who aren't involved in indieweb (or even know about it) + see what some barriers might be for them
ryokagriffinIf you can create some kind of survey you could drop it here and on the fediverse or something, you'll get a bias response obviously but it'll be way more data points
reillypascalHi all! I've been going to the homebrew website club for a few months and I'd like to create a user page on the wiki. Is that ok to create?
[Joe_Crawford]reillypascal++ yes! https://indieweb.org/chat-names is where the capability to do the shorthands in pages and etherpad and other places I'm not thinking of comes from
[Al_Abut][tantek] yeah unfortunately that kind of mistake out of the blue is becoming more common and for regular people, not just the popular. It’s hit a few friends in the creative industry and I even got a warning for something like one of my dog pics, completely nonsensical.
[Al_Abut]@vhbelvadi good to see you on here! My Friday is in tinker mode and I’m excited for some quality time with my website this weekend too. What’re you up to?
[Al_Abut]I love the clean header design of your newsletter. Never noticed it before because I usually read in RSS, that’s a good reminder to myself to occasionally make the rounds and see what’s new on people’s actual websites.
[Al_Abut]I think part of it is that it’s so refreshing to see someone in academia with nice crisp work, bringing the same thoughtfulness and craft that they do to their research or teaching.
