[dave]I’ve only ever been to HWC once because every interaction with you indie web sickos is “my website this” and “my website that”, it’s almost like the W in HWC is for website
arekenatenWell, it took a while for me to be comfortable with my networking setup and trolling articles to try to make sure nginx wasn't going to let people run around on my server. But it's a start 🙂 https://cosenc.com/
LoqiHomebrew Website Club is a growing world-wide network of meetups for everyone who wants to take back their web experience from social media silos, and own their online identities & content, or just want support with blogging! https://indieweb.org/HWC
pfychAnybody interested in running one in Sydney Australia? I’d love to attend one but I’m busy with full time work so couldn’t really host one myself 😵💫
[artlung]pfych depending on the time of day I'm sure there's someone across the time zones who can assist with hosting. https://events.indieweb.org/archive I believe it was capjamesg[d] who created some "Global" editions last year to try to serve Oceana
artlungMy general advice would be to make a time you want this to happen and commit to hold it and folks in here or in meta or in events can commit to start the Zoom when you need it. I have had some moderate success promoting FrESH on Bluesky and Mastodon and blogging about it. I bet there are folks out there interested. Holler if you need help or guidance or have questions.
[mike579]I feel like I've seen a service where you can paste in an x/twitter link to get a non-x link in order to reduce traffic to it but I can't remember what it was called now ... anyone know what I'm talking about?
