btremI must disagree with the sentiments of the stpeter.im/journal/ article. To each her/his own, but I'm definitely not using indieweb principles to bury my head in the sand, partially or otherwise.
btremNot sure how else to take it. He says there's no point in following the news, it's "mental junk food." And the link was posted here as being "IndieWeb...aligned." For me, it's quite the opposite.
btremI don't think politics is really on-topic here, so I can't really get into it too much. I'd post about it on my site, but I don't really want to pick a fight with some random writer, especially since he didn't make any IndieWeb connection.
carrvo[dave], what is this "zero-website approach" you speak of? It could be that this is simply the wrong community for you (since they are website oriented) but I certainly hope you find one more aligned with yourself.
carrvore: stpeter.im I find myself a bit more in-between. I find a lot of "news outlets"/"individual news posts" to be generally unproductive (and don't follow as much as I should). But it is also unfair and segregating to completely ignore local or global events (cough, cough, Trump).
[dave]@carrvo I think itβs important to legitimize approaches like HTML over email, via p2p file transfers, or simply writing it but never sharing it with anyone ever.
