glitzeor4444 Hello IndieWeb, I lost my wallet and needed to get new cards and forgot to update my deets for hosting. BOOM—no website. To add insult to injury, I completely forgot to backup anything. So everything is just gone LOL. I made a new crappy index just to be like ~I am a silly human~. Time to rebuild HAHAHA.

[social] Dang! No copy locally? I know you use Obsidian.

[social] Git will be your future friend.
#
jak2k Or maybe JJ. It's much easier to use and compatible with git.
#
Loqi friendly reminder [social], jak2k, it seems like this conversation is more appropriate for #indieweb-dev (git)

glitzeor4444 [social] my garden website is fine (thankfully), since it's on Vercel lol. It's my WordPress that's gone. I think some of my posts i have local copies of on obsidian, that's a good point, thanks!
#
glitzeor4444 jak2k thanks! Will look up JJ

[tantek] What is a backup
#
Loqi A backup of an indieweb site should have everything necessary to redeploy it on a new webhost https://indieweb.org/backup
#
[tantek] Sympathies and worth capturing some of the real world scenario stuff there once you've recovered stuff

kenomatik Hello all, I'm Karthikeyan from South India. A writer and a music producer. Currently a senior PM at an esign company. Been going through some rough times these past two years personally, and I've been doing a lot of personal introspection lately. Restarted my independent digital garden at karthikeyankc.com. Been focusing on building it from ground up with Astro. Just wanted to drop in and say hello to the fellow indieweb authors.
#
[capjamesg] Welcome!
#
kenomatik Thank you. 🙂

thamara_k kenomatik[d] welcome! Your site looks amazing. I’m also rebuilding my site in Astro so will be following yours with interest. Your comment system discuss looks great - I was looking for something like that!
#
kenomatik thamara_k[d]: Thank you! Feel free to take Discuss for a spin. Always looking for feedback (and PRs)! And I'd love to get some inspirations from your little corner on the web too. 🙂
#
thamara_k I certainly will. Still in the early stages of using Astro, so there’s a lot more I need to do first.
#
thamara_k My current WordPress website is https://thamara.co.uk

#
kenomatik thamara_k[d]: It's timing out from my region. How do you like the 7 update btw? I stopped using WordPress when they went full on with Gutenberg. One of the motivations to move away from WordPress to Astro.

[capjamesg] And of course your page for your Chief Mouser.
#
.savisonline Thank you! The Chief Mouser is a very important position so the page is well deserved 🐈‍⬛
#
.savisonline There is an RSS feed but I’ve just realised there isn’t a link for that on the homepage which I need to remedy!
