Phew! Apple approved Indigenous 0.2.1 for Beta!
#
[eddie]
TestFlights notifications should be going out. Now that I have a good foundation for Indigenous, I’m planning to do shorter release improvements rather than a big restructuring like what happened between the last beta and this beta
#
[eddie]
So expect small incremental updates from here until it’s public release
#
eli_oat
wicked excited to see what you've been up too!
#
eli_oat

eddie: how does the app grab a list of past posts? RSS?
#
aaronpk
Whoa this is so cool
#
aaronpk
Just realized I want to set an ordering of the channels now
snarfed joined the channel
#
[eddie]
Yeah that’s something I want to add into the next build of indigenous that will be stored locally. Of course if we add that to Microsub, then eventually it can persist that via Microsub. But I am definitely gonna have to add ordering locally in indigenous, because my order is driving me crazy haha
#
[eddie]
eli_oat[m]: sorry what do you mean by past posts?

[cleverdevil]
eddie I mentioned this over in #indieweb, but the update can’t seem to authenticate with my site.
#
[eddie]
cleverdevil That is strange! Where does it stop>
#
[cleverdevil]
I type in my domain, then it takes me there, I tap on my website's "Authorize" button, and then it takes me straight back to the Indigenous screen where I have to login with my domain.
#
[cleverdevil]
I can add you a user on my site, if that helps 🙂
#
[eddie]
Yeah, that helps 🙂 That will allow me to debug what the code is doing
#
[cleverdevil]
n/m, h-card FTW.

https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/forum/#!msg/ct-policy/sz_3W_xKBNY/6jq2ghJXBAAJ - TL;DR: all certificates issued after April 2018 need to be in Certificate Transparency (CT), otherwise Chrome will not trust them.

Why is CT annoying?
#
petermolnar
because it's yet another google enforced "safeguard"
#
sknebel
I think its fair to call it a safeguard without scare quotes
#
dgold
isn't the issue that at least one CA, allegedly working with a state actor, issued certificates for hundreds of sites, permitting MITM attacks?
#
dgold
i'm unsure why the proposal by Google here is A Bad Thing
#
petermolnar
the proposal, no, driven by google, I'm a bit afraid
#
petermolnar
but let's hope there won't be any issues
#
sknebel
I haven't seen much of objections by other organisations in the ecosystem. and there's not many orgs that can drive something like this

the idea is any Microsub server is a backend to it. Right now I think Monocle is the only one
#
aaronpk
I still consider Monocle in very early stages so i'm not opening up accounts on my instance, and I'm also not writing up guides on how to install it from source. if you want, you can figure it out. but I would rather people write more Microsub servers than just use mine

Do you want to have some sort of default text there if it’s nil? Or is nil not normal in a normal device use?

Not sure through who I found this, but interesting, browsers block rendering on print stylesheets so you might want to move the LINK element to the end of your page: https://www.nccgroup.trust/uk/about-us/newsroom-and-events/blogs/2018/january/how-to-stop-a-print-stylesheet-slowing-down-your-web-page/

Apparently some browsers (including Firefox) will wait with rendering until CSS is downloaded. But they will also wait for print stylesheets :(
