[gregorlove] I haven't pushed it live but you can see it https://syllabus.glitch.me if you click on schedule or scroll down I couldn't figure out how to to do h-event. Each event is split across a grid row.

I couldn't figure out how to do it correctly unless I made it to each event was contained in one grid cell
#
sknebel
yeah, that's currently an issue with grids. in your case, you might be able to work around it with display: contents, which allows you to wrap grid-elements in a wrapper that gets ignored by grid

I'm starting to think I need a different max width/heigh policy for panoramas; when it comes to very long, not too tall images, the max width limit makes it tiny
#
petermolnar
had anyone played around with this before?

adaptive max size, based on w/h ratio

petermolnar: I remember doing something like checking the ratio of the image and setting either a max width or max height depending on whether the image is wider than it is tall
#
petermolnar
right, but that's normal
#
petermolnar
that's the regular max size policy
#
petermolnar
my problem is that if I have a panorama and set the max width to, say, 1024 pixels, the height can easily become something ridiculous, like 200px
#
petermolnar
because the 5+:1 ratio
#
aaronpk
no I mean the opposite. with a panorama, you set the max *height*, then let it scroll horizontally
#
petermolnar
that's more or less what I ended up with for now: if width > height*3, set max height to 0.6xmax size, instead of setting max width
#
petermolnar
the problem is that I have an image where the source height is below the max size and the width is like 8xheight - othewise my python-> C imagemagick dies with too large entity...

19795x2026 pixels is apparently not liked by imagemagick

#

imagemagick has a config file for those limits
#
sknebel
(it also has --limit commandline options, but those are only for *lowering* the limit)

!tell aaronpk is there some way I can see what Quill sends to Micropub?

not really. only wireshark if you're posting to a non-ssl micropub server

aaronpk: jeremycherfas left you a message 1 minute ago: is there some way I can see what Quill sends to Micropub?

and if you want to see exactly what's happening, you can point it at https://micropub.rocks

Trying to sort out why WithKnown does not set mime type correctly on photos posted from Quill and OYG. I've looked at the Known end. (not that that means much.)
#
petermolnar
sknebel: !!! I completely forgot about policy.xml
#
jeremycherfas
Known has a media endpoint. And Quill correctly send the file to the media endpoint and shows the preview. So far so good.
#
petermolnar
testing it now
#
aaronpk
jeremycherfas: can you check the http header of the file that is uploaded to the media endpoint?
#
petermolnar
( It was set to 16KP max width )
#
jeremycherfas
But the URL of the file does not contain a mimetype or extension.
#
aaronpk
curl -I example.com/file
#
aaronpk
that'll show you the headers
#
jeremycherfas
Hmn. That just returned the entire binary file.

Oh. Sorry. Not lower el.
#

Content type is definitely image/jpeg for the file as uploaded by Quill. So that's good to know. Thanks.
#
aaronpk
petermolnar: tbh that looks fine. it looks like a thumbnail, but I click it and see the whole thing and can pan around
#
petermolnar
but this is the new version
#
jeremycherfas
Let me try for the final image as Known saves it.
