mblaney hoping to work with [mapkyca] on building webmention badgemaker plugin for Known, hopefully you might be able borrow, steal, contribute, congrats on the integration. I think I may try it next semester
#
mblaney
cool be interesting to see what you come up with :-)
#
mblaney
from my end it doesn't look that different from indiepay.me, but that idea needs some work too.
#
[tantek]
we need webmentions for payment
#
[tantek]
hold on, wait for it
#
[tantek]
paymentions
#
[tantek]
Zero blockchain needed
#
mblaney
that's exactly how indiepay.me works

#
aaronpk
i'm getting some phantom whitespace appearing and i'm not happy about it
#
[jgmac1106]
yeah that was always my thought when I saw indiepay.me. That could be the ledger I used to track badges..which I I can already do with webmentions.io but wouldn't look as slick
#
[jgmac1106]
indiepay.me as we have discussed creates tht ledger, and Tantek wasn't there an uptick with rel="payment" in some podcaast apps
#
aaronpk
something about ul > li with display grid is adding some extra horizontal whitespace between the items
#
aaronpk
ohh i'm an idiot, I forgot I had an explicit width set on the things inside
#
mblaney
I think the extra step from indiepay.me would be to select an issuer when you log in. ie it's not just person to person.
#
[jgmac1106]
when I log in with my domain, I become the issuer, word is bond, and my url is my name
#
mblaney
yeah but when I log in, I would want to select you as an issuer, maybe you provide a list of badges that I want. I then request one by showing you I have fulfilled requirements for it.
#
mblaney
it's a discovery problem. a badge earner is only logging in because you've told them how to collect badges.
#
[jgmac1106]
I was thinking the request includes a u-in-reply-to the listed criteria of the badge. I say I want this (reply) and here are links or descriptions of evidence describing how I met that criteria
#
[jgmac1106]
Then me (the payee) decides if I want to issue it or not, If I decide yes, just a u-in-reply-to the request
#
[jgmac1106]
The logging in part is just is you want to make the badge in a pretty make a badge micropub client that will publish to your site
#
[jgmac1106]
the badge itself is just two webmentions and possible a u-url to a link of evidence
#
aaronpk
ok fun cssgrid challenge. is there a way to define a grid where the first row is just one item full width, but then the rest of the rows are 3-items-per-row?
#
[jgmac1106]
Loggin,,,goes gets graph paper
#
[jgmac1106]
kartik and gRegor blow me away with their Grid knowledge with the math and stuff they use
#
[jgmac1106]
but aaronpk is their a reason you couldn't just use two different grids/
#
mblaney
sure, I guess there's the question of do I want the badge from you, or do you represent a larger institution? does acceptance of work live on your website, the institutions, or maybe that gets delegated to a third party?
#
aaronpk
there is a reason, and I could work around it by writing more server-side code, but I was hoping there was a nice css way to do this
#
[jgmac1106]
or just define the first row as 1/3
#
[jgmac1106]
..does.n't work..infinite for the rest,,,,
#
[jgmac1106]
the ledger mblaney is yes more for admin purposes, a record of who applied for and who issued what
#
[jgmac1106]
Grid Areas would work, but if you are doing something else it is a hard shift
#
[jgmac1106]
but if a was 1 /span 3
JerryO joined the channel; JerryO left the channel
#
[jgmac1106]
and then b , c, d were just 1, 2, 3 that would....I just hate getting stuck where I have to keep adding grid-rows..that s the part whwere I lean on other people
#
[jgmac1106]
this may do what you want
#
[jgmac1106]
the first row is 1/span 3 and then there are a, b, c under it...granted there is a nested grid in that first row
#
aaronpk
I want that first image on its own row full width
#
[jgmac1106]
ohh gRegorLove has good code on that....demoed in Austin
#
[jgmac1106]
I play with different photo row sizes here...but I think I cheat and use new grids: https://jgregorymcverry.com/iwcnyc2019 let me hunt down what gRegor does
#
gRegorLove
Haven't worked on that in a while though

[KevinMarks], you may want to look at this use-case for fragmentions and the error it ran into (fragment based routing) https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=961440
#
[KevinMarks]
They have talked about that bug as a reason to add a new obscure text indicator

@mblaney Just catching up some of the stuff you've released. Very cool. Feature request for Unicyclic: get the list of destinations from q=config so that if someone has multiple blogs, they can pick which one to send the post to.

to be clear, with a fragmention, the page text disappears and you only see page 1 2 3: https://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/lice-treatment#Wet%20combing%20is%20one,or%20olive%20oil

Updating spec header accordingly

[KevinMarks] WDYT of an opt-out meta tag for Fragmention, e.g. a site could actively say to the browser don't attempt to navigate me to a fragmention
