MrHyde_
hello
#
MrHyde_
hello again, I've spent two hours to find why I got that "No webmention supported links found."
#
MrHyde_
I have a u-url u-uid and a u-in-reply-to
#
MrHyde_
but it's like it doesnt take it ...
#
[tantek]
(chat continued from #indieweb )
#
MrHyde_
[tantek]: hehe yes
#
[tantek]
#
vilhalmer
can u-in-reply-to go in a rel? or does it have to be a class?
#
[tantek]
class only. we've dropped adding any new rel microformats since they're page scoped
#
vilhalmer
that's probably it
#
MrHyde_
I think I've tried both
#
MrHyde_
but I can test it again :)
#
vilhalmer
I don't see a u-uid currently either
#
MrHyde_
<div class="container h-entry"> <a class="u-url" href="{{ .Permalink }}" hidden></a> <a class="p-author h-card" rel="author" href="{{ .Site.BaseURL }}" hidden>Hyde Stevenson</a>
#
MrHyde_
argh
#
MrHyde_
do i need both ? u-uid and u-url ?
#
MrHyde_
vilhalmer: for the u-in-reply-to it is in a rel actually
#
vilhalmer
I saw it is currently, yeah; I think it's supposed to be a class like the others
#
vilhalmer
rel=in-reply-to doesn't have the u- and doesn't work anymore
#
vilhalmer
as far as whether a u-uid is required, I haven't actually implemented webmention yet because I'm being lazy :)
#
vilhalmer
but I do have both on the same link in my posts
#
KartikPrabhu
you can test your microformats on https://microformats.io/
#
MrHyde_
actually some stuff work
#
MrHyde_
but not everything
#
MrHyde_
KartikPrabhu: thanks for the link
#
MrHyde_
vilhalmer: i have the link working changing it to a class
#
MrHyde_
but here : https://webmention.app/test?url=https%3A%2F%2Flazybear.io%2Fposts%2Findeed-git-is-great%2F I always got "no webmention links supported"
#
vilhalmer
I'm poking around but nothing else is striking me as immediately wrong
#
vilhalmer
indeed microformats.io picks it up
#
MrHyde_
Yeah I thought it would be straight forward but I spent hours on that ... something stupid obviously or, as I always say, an issue between the chair and the keyboard :)
#
vilhalmer
I assume webmention.app doesn't cache…
#
MrHyde_
yeah and then how do you "send" the reply when everything is good ?
#
KartikPrabhu
it might be just sending them when everything works
#
MrHyde_
Have to get some sleep but thanks
#
MrHyde_
thanks you too if you are in Europe :)

Hello found the issue that I had yesterday. Looks like webmention.app want a e-content or it doesnt validate the page. I thought a summary should be enough

I think it was meant to be about using something that's not next js? But it's pretty specific

Jumping Into Webmentions With NextJS (or Not): Webmention is a W3C recommendation last published on January 12, 2017. And what exactly is a Webmention? It’s described as… […] a simple way to notify any URL when you mention it on your site. hm, his mf2 should have a bit more though, like content or summary otherwise the mentions are going to be a bit limited

Hi. I’ve registered in webmention.io and brid.gy using my domain. I connected brid.gy to my Twitter account and I can see the replies to my tweets. Shouldn’t they be visible in webmention.io as well? I can’t see Twitter replies but only other sites webmentions. Sorry if I upset you with this question. Thanks.
#
jacky
[Paulo_Pinto]: you're good so like IIRC webmention.io keeps just the webmention facets

fortunately bridgy has domain shortcuts in urls. ok, https://brid.gy/twitter/w3bk3rn3l.xyz
#
[Paulo_Pinto]
sorry
#
[snarfed]
do you have an example of a reply that you think should have been sent?
#
[Paulo_Pinto]
let me see…
#
[Paulo_Pinto]
OK…. you mean replies to twitters cross-poste from my website, right?
#
[snarfed]
right. either your original tweet needs a link to the post on your site, or the post on your site needs a u-syndication link to the tweet. https://brid.gy/about#Does+the+social
#
KartikPrabhu
[Paulo_Pinto]: essentially bridgy cannot find out that your tweet is a syndication copy of the post on your website
#
[Paulo_Pinto]
ok…rel-syndication needed. I think that’s the problem!
#
[Paulo_Pinto]
Thanks
#
KartikPrabhu
does bridgy use rel=syndication? or only the mf2 property?
#
[snarfed]
oh, no, your tweets already link to the posts on your site, which means you don't need rel-syndication
#
[snarfed]
hope that was clear in the docs section i linked to. let me know if not
#
[snarfed]
i'm still happy to look if you have an example missing reply
#
[Paulo_Pinto]
ok. Let me go deep and try to find it. If not, I’ll ask your help. Appreciate your help.
