[tantek][snarfed] I edited and updated my edit-update post to fix the typos that [KevinMarks] noticed, and resent a webmention to BridgyFed (which the dashboard showed), however it didn’t seem to get updated on xoxo.zone. See upthread here: https://xoxo.zone/@KevinMarks/109665366036600650
[tantek]!tell [snarfed] I’ve also spot-checked boosts of that post https://tantek.com/2023/009/t2/edit-reply-comment-update on other instances, and same problem. [snarfed][tantek] interesting! Bridgy Fed's logs show that it sent your edited post with the ActivtyPub typos fixed to xoxo.zone at 22:49:24 PST yesterday
[tantek][snarfed] also out of date on hachyderm.io e.g. check out https://hachyderm.io/@CrowderSoup ’s boost (you may have to scroll a little and search for "boost")
[tantek][snarfed] [KevinMarks] interesting detail, all the typo fixes are AFTER the "Read More >", so you can't see that the typos are still there until you click the "Read More >" link
[snarfed]understood. I don't know how Updates and boosts interact in Mastodon, but BF's logs show that it successfully delivered the Update to https://hachyderm.io/inbox at 22:46:53 PT yesterday, just like xoxo.zone
sknebel(maybe I should dig out and finish a blogpost draft about that I discarded due to being overly ranty... Complex error messages aren't always bad, and hiding detail behind "simple" messages can make it impossible to help people with their issues
