barnaby, angelo just recently used aaronpk's post to get something like that set up. Demoed it at last week's HWC Pacific.

irony: https://webmention.app/ — no webmention endpoint found 😂

@soapdog
@t Wait, bloggers can actually write instead of obsess and over their CMS and overengineer their custom solution!? :D

[snarfed] I edited and updated my edit-update post to fix the typos that [KevinMarks] noticed, and resent a webmention to BridgyFed (which the dashboard showed), however it didn’t seem to get updated on xoxo.zone. See upthread here: https://xoxo.zone/@KevinMarks/109665366036600650

!tell [snarfed] I’ve also spot-checked boosts of that post https://tantek.com/2023/009/t2/edit-reply-comment-update on other instances, and same problem. The update didn't make it through (BridgyFed did accept the webmention so that's not it) and isn't showing up. You can tell they’re out of date with the "ActivtyPub" typo (should be "ActivityPub"). Any idea where the update problem might be? Quite ironic for that post in particu

[preview] [Tantek Çelik] Sometimes it’s the little things, like editing a post. Edit a reply, see a comment update on another post. From day 5 (https://tantek.com/2023/005/t3/indieweb-simpler-approach) * Can I edit my post after publishing? Whether a tweet or Instagram p...

[tantek] interesting! Bridgy Fed's logs show that it sent your edited post with the ActivtyPub typos fixed to xoxo.zone at 22:49:24 PST yesterday
#
[snarfed]
I don't know why the post visible on xoxo.zone isn't updated
#
[snarfed]
(specifically, BF delivered an Update AS2 object to shared inbox https://xoxo.zone/inbox and got a 202 like usual)
#
[KevinMarks]
though inspect shows me the same typo

[snarfed] [KevinMarks] interesting detail, all the typo fixes are AFTER the "Read More >", so you can't see that the typos are still there until you click the "Read More >" link
#
[snarfed]
understood. I don't know how Updates and boosts interact in Mastodon, but BF's logs show that it successfully delivered the Update to https://hachyderm.io/inbox at 22:46:53 PT yesterday, just like xoxo.zone
#
[tantek]
Is it possible that Mastodon is ignoring changes after the first 500 characters?
#
[snarfed]
seems unlikely, but I guess possible, sure

trying to figure out how multiple different servers (all the ones I checked) are having this bug, and how to file it

@schnarfed
Exposing raw server logs to end users is a horrible idea. Like, really bad. I did it anyway in https://brid.gy/ and it was an unqualified success, enough that I'll probably do it again in anything else I build in the future. https://snarfed.org/2023-01-11_logs-as-end-user-ui
