[0x3b0b] AndStatus can log into, post to, and read from a microblogpub site (that is, I can see what the people I follow have been doing as if I were checking my inbox/stream). The compatibility is not surprising considering that the AndStatus, Microblogpub, and I think now Friendica developers were working together on AP C2S, but I think last time I looked a couple months ago, they had fixed one blocker but didn't actually have it working yet.

[0x3b0b] ...MBP is also pretty mobile-friendly out of the box, though, so not sure how much I'll really use either one.

[0x3b0b] IndiePass, last I checked, can log in and post to MBP as an Indieweb endpoint, but not read; which I think is to be expected because MBP doesn't have Microsub. It can also log into my alt account on a Pleroma server if I want something to read, of course.

[schmarty] i'm thinking of going to a new 4-emoji format, where the first (emoji) character indicates the emoji-hashing-scheme version. that'll let me make changes going forward by bumping that instead of upping the number of emoji each time.

[schmarty] next up, i think i'll expand the emoji space to include up to unicode 14, which was standardized in 2021 and wide support rolled out last year, so should be pretty well supported. looking forward to some new site having a :melting_face: and more.

[schmarty] i think i need a more detailed plan for what to leave out of the emoji data, though. definitely country flags, but probably also religious symbols, drug and alcohol references, guns? i'm also not sure what i should include in terms of skin tone and family / relationship emoji.

sknebel Also, maybe the "categories" on the lists like https://unicode.org/emoji/charts/full-emoji-list.html make it easier to remove groups you don't like in there

[schmarty] sknebel++ letting folks customize the skin tone on various emoji sounds fun! i'm not sure i want to _build_ that customizer but i like the idea of issuing new emoji without skin tone and accepting modified versions by stripping the modifiers.
