cambridgeport90What is the concensus on hosting one's own DNS; I run Technitium as a DNS sinkhole at home (though I need to fix it, but that's another story), and I've got some space offered to me in a datace ter by a friend of mine, and he's fine with me running my own DNS from there, since there is enough DDOS protection in the datacenter itself, but another friend of mine is stating how it's too risky and how I shouldn't do it.

aaronpkthe main reason I used to was because I wanted to be able to do changes faster than I could on the old web UIs from various providers, and have APIs to do things like dynamic DNS
