I am thinking of changing CASSIS auto_link to treat plain @-names as IG handles by default instead of Twitter, or at least parameterizing it and then maybe conditionalizing it in calling code on a before/after posting date at least for my uses (so I don't have to go back and change all my @-names of the past)
#
[tantek]
Per the Olympics broadcasts now using plain @-names e.g. under athletes photos / names to refer to their IG
#
[tantek]
(Without mentioning IG)

The Olympics does that? I do not think I have seen that. Going to need to pay more attention next time I catch any athlete on TV.

I see mastodon people using @name@twitter.com (which doesn't auto link)

[KevinMarks], CASSIS auto_link function auto-links @t@twitter.com just fine 😁 perhaps you are seeing a Mastodon depends on a crappy lookup standard problem? πŸ•Έ πŸ‘‰
#
[KevinMarks]
I think I am, yes
#
[tantek]
And please share examples of Mastodon people posting that
#
[tantek]
I will use it to justify my @-@ auto-linking spec

phanpy tends to do the right thing by default, it really alters my mastodon experience
#
[tantek]
Ah thank your the examples and for noting that phanpy is auto linking it anyway even without πŸ•Έ πŸ‘‰ on Twitter
#
[tantek]
thank you* for* the examples.

I can seem to find a discrete agenda directly linked from that (I'm not going to dig through threads of rando forum posts, sorry)

I can’t make it. I want to get more active on the CG meetings, though.

I'm not sure this is worth your time, was more curious if you had already decided to go or not
#
[tantek]
the primary Social CG meeting is probably worth your time though

aside [snarfed] [manton] finally found that CG TF meeting agenda after digging ... in a js;dr Google Doc, naturally: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FkvC0Wb1edapLidYtnQmYyodVe5RgtZdUfPhCk_YZBo/edit

Has anyone run into this error: `cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: self-signed certificate (see http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html)`. I am trying to use my infant website to login to indieweb.
#
[snarfed]
sdcaulley which server?
#
sdcaulley
That I don't know. Can you give me context for "server"? Where my site is?
#
[tantek]
sdcaulley, presumably which server did you call cURL with to get that error?
#
sdcaulley
sdcaulley.com
#
[snarfed]
yup https://sdcaulley.com is indeed serving a self-signed cert
#
[snarfed]
sdcaulley try it in a browser, it won't load

Looks like a wildcard cert. Do those work for the apex domain?
#
to2ds
Is the self-signed cert being used for testing?
#
[tantek]
Just noticed, this Slack channel has 999 people and a bot is one
#

You can tell cURL to not verify with the -k switch and the page will load, but remote endpoints generally don't like self-signed certs.
