burgeonlab<lesleylai>: I wonder if I'll regret choosing it over Zensical (docs SSG). And exactly as you said, I already went thru one of those merge conflict 'confusions' yesterday (I still get confused sometimes with Git) after not upgrading for two months. Plus my TS overrides also broke after the upgrade Maybe not worth updating the plugins unless there's some security vulnerability!
burgeonlabwturrell: I have been using Obsidian for probably 4 or 5 years and like it but with recent updates I feel the app is much more sluggish (on macOS)...
[social][burgeonlab] I’ve been feeling the sluggishness of Obsidian, but I have a lot of notes and have some plug-ins that are resource intensive. I’m working to sort out what I can cut back on. One recent Obsidian update improved things a fair amount, but then it regressed.

burgeonlab[social]: oh... my vault is prob tiny compared to yours 😅 but I did update plugins recently. Maybe one of them is the cause. The start time used to be under 1 second but now it can be upwards of. 4 seconds which is a lot. Hope it goes back to how it was before...

wturrellburgeonlab/social: how responsive is editing and search for you? (literally only started using it yesterday, I have about 8,000 notes, core + 1 community plugin, feels quite snappy on an Apple M1)

burgeonlabwturrell: I use the Omnisearch plugin and thankfully that's still snappy. Editing is fine/no lag. It's only the opening of the app that has gotten slow recently. I only have about 500 markdown files, 5 community and 13 core plugins. I'm also on M1 16GB RAM.
wturrellwell there's old stuff in there that can be shifted to another vault. My *actual* fear with Obsidian is how much time I'll waste tidying everything up, deciding I need properties and metadata etc. 16GB for me too (Mac Mini).
burgeonlabwturrell: We're M1 Mac Mini buddies. 👋🏻I think either my Mac or Obsidian heard me complaining here because the start time is back down to 1 second. 😅 Strange!
[artlung]til the markdown parser I chose supports the syntax for titles on links (which I did not know existed). So that's been really great for changes to my site where I store writing in Markdown. `[Text Inside the A Tag](https://example.org/ "Title Text Goes In Here")`
[social]The use for it is to store the site’s title as it exists in the parenthesis with the title and the bracket can be the user’s text for the link.
[social]I think I first saw this pattern a few years back in R Studio, which is helpful for output of scraped sites when capturing links and researchers keep the URL and the site’s title, but can name it as they need.
