[artlung]for a default output it's really nice. I just wanted *something* as output that was reasonable. now that I have it I am probably going to do some work around the output to power more robust views.
morganwebdevBetween the identity verification stuff, introduction of instagram premium, other things... I wonder if theres a day where the story function simply stops working like it used to and things go almost completely dark in that silo
[tantek]weird, I'm not running into those issues, perhaps better for #indieweb-random unless there's an actual problem you're seeing now as a user then maybe it's a good main #indieweb problem to discuss
morganwebdevNot sure if that was a response to me, basically I just dont feel good about instragrams future for what it is, so I ++ efforts to capture/control/own/export etc. ones efforts there is what I meant-
morganwebdevMy spouse learned how to use browser dev tools to export images from instagram to aid them making a newsletter, as far as they are concerned they are hacking the matrix when they do this
morganwebdevI envy the state-of-being, to get such joy. By contrast, you can see my current drafted section in the wiki how to bulk export hundreds of images, its not very elegant or smooth. But its an option~
[Mike]ctrl-click, too, to make it harder to inspect the page. I wound up running an intersectionobserver from the Inspector's js console so you could just scroll up the page and it would check the checkboxes automatically as you scrolled past them.
[Mike]@morganwebdev I'm a huge fan of inspector hacks. I'm forever devising little bits of javascript to run in the console to do things the page tries to stop you from doing. Like, for a while, I was using http://poe.com for LLM access, and when you wanted to share a long conversation, they made you check off each prompt and reply individually to be included in the share... not fun when you had 100 separate comments. And they intercepted the

morganwebdevIt feels very apparent but even though a lot of things behind developer tools are only a few clicks away, very quite transparent, a lot of people simply strongly tune-out super fast because they think nothing there is "for them" and they are "not a dev". Im momentarily excited about trying to document or create educational resources that illustrate examples like image exports from instagram
[Mike]@morganwebdev I used to run with a crowd of urban explorers. They had similar ideas about what most people would consider "trespassing". Like, "Hey, this is just part of my natural environment. Once we were surrounded by trees, fields, and streams, now we're surrounded by buildings, tunnels, and bridges."
