[KevinMarks] @rubenwardy wordpress does support microformats 1 by default, but it does depend on what themes you use. It's probably worth asking more detailed questions in #indieweb-wordpress where other people who have implemented this are more likely to see it.

I’d put the sending step after the deployed post is publicly reachable, so the receiving site can fetch it, and test discovery before enabling --send. That gives you a build-tool-independent route without needing an Astro integration.
