aaronpk, did we ever discuss having Loqi also recognize h-cite?
#
tantek
as well as h-entry
#
tantek
since comment markup (rightfully I think) uses h-cite on comments made elsewhere (where the h-entry lives elsewhere) https://indieweb.org/comments-presentation#How_to_markup
#
tantek
the rest should map h-cite -> h-entry pretty close to 1:1 - author, content
#
aaronpk
hm does it not already do that?
#
tantek
good question - looking for an example to try in #indieweb-wordpress

Just a short question. Does anybody know to which pixel width the IndieWiki content has been set? Horizontal lines take the full space, but text plus images not.
#
sketchess
is learning to handle the wiki
#
Zegnat
I don’t think there is any max width specified?
#
sketchess
Hmm, but it cuts it seems.
#
sketchess
strange
#
Zegnat
It does? Where?
#
sknebel
the main article content has max-width: 800px
#
Zegnat
Oh, I seemed to recall it was 100%. My mistake then
#
sketchess
Thank you sknebel. :) I can work with that.
#
sketchess
I think you do not mind, if I giving it a go and try to create some pretty pages. ;)

#
sketchess
Hmm. Is it impossible to influence the __TOC__ (table of content) by using style tags and div containers? It does not seem to react to any kind of formating.
#
sketchess
Positioning e.g. seems to be unchangable.
#
Zegnat
You should be able to write CSS that targets it. <style>#toc.toc { }</style>
#
Loqi
totally
#
sketchess
I assume there isn't any list of such special tags? I never would have known that it is named toc.toc. . So hoe do you know, Zegnat?
#
Zegnat
The DOM inspector in the browser. Just look at the TOC box and you see it has id="toc" and class="toc"
#
sketchess
Oh that is smart, thank you.
#

zegnat has 16 karma in this channel (130 overall)
#
sketchess
I will keep that in mind. For sure.
#
sketchess
Nope. It still does refuse to get styled by any means. That is not very handy. *thought
#
Zegnat
What are you trying?
#
Zegnat
Adding this below __TOC__ on a wiki page gives it a red background for me, so definitely style-able: <raw><style>#toc.toc{background-color:red;}</style></raw>
#
sketchess
positioning, width, border for example.... a no-show too ... well simple things
#
sketchess
What does raw mean?
#
Zegnat
That is a wiki tag that says the wiki should not parse anything between it. Just to make sure the style tag is included exactly as I type it.
#
sketchess
Hah! Got ya!
#
sketchess
Good without raw it clearly does not except any style attempts. Noted.
#
sketchess
my mistake... accepts

xD That's why I am happily building my own side. Jusing others stuff always drives one to a point were someone has to riddle to make it work. I am not a fan of searching for names of elements.^^
#
sketchess
side = site
#
sketchess
Thanks for all your help Zegnat.
#
Zegnat
Well, you could write indieweb articles on your own site and then license them CC0 so people can copy them to the wiki ;)
#
sketchess
I still wanna give it a go. Its interesting to see if there might be a simpler but pretty way to handle the wiki. I might have thought to complicated. But it was nice to discover some do and don'ts using old stuff.
#
sketchess
It has to work somehow without a snail of styles. Even if Wiki set-ups might change in the future.
#
sketchess
I noticed that the comment para gives different users a different ID. So if I login with my nick name I getting my own ID and another user another one. So is it allowed to make changes to my reference page? Setting user 11.htm to my nick and signature too?
[jeremycherfas] joined the channel
#
sketchess
Conclusion: it should not effect other user 11.htm users since they run on other IDs.
#
Zegnat
On the wiki every user can edit every page.
#
Zegnat
That’s the point of a wiki
#
sketchess
Yeah might be. Nevertheless the comment para is pre-set and marked as: send an email if my user talk page is changed.
#
sketchess
I wonder. Will it happen when I set the my reference showing my ID and creation stamp to sketchess that the other user with different ID is getting a sketchess instead of a pre-set comment para user 11.htm?
#
sketchess
I can not know how comment para is meant to work. Will one change effect all other future users or not?
#
sketchess
Or does it separates them from each other?
#
Zegnat
I think everything is a new anonymous user? That’s the point of anonymous users? I don’t know. I would treat them as throwaway accounts.

!tell sebsel the tech is organized so far : sebsel brings a webcam (which one?), /me brings a lcd-beamer and big screen for it and 3 laptops, light, flipcharts and so - now
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
#
sl007
I wonder if usually an IWC is streamed directly to youtube and if it makes a difference if I'd just setup a "Hangout" and record it additionally with another machine (screenshot) / Zegnat
#
Zegnat
I think IWCs are streamed in different ways depending on the venue. You should do whatever works best at the event.
#

do you have access to the indiewebcamp youtube account already?

sebsel: sl007 left you a message 4 hours, 24 minutes ago: the tech is organized so far : sebsel brings a webcam (which one?), /me brings a lcd-beamer and big screen for it and 3 laptops, light, flipcharts and so - now
#
sebsel
aaronpk Due to all these channels, some messages can lie around for quite a while.
#
aaronpk
yeah i want to make a "notifications" thing for chat.indieweb.org
#
sebsel
On the other hand: you don't want to display a message (which might be on the topic of the channel) in a different channel.
#
sebsel
Yeah, I was thinking about a general trigger, but that's no use too because of the topics.
#
aaronpk
so when you're logged in, it'll show you a list of all your !tells
#
sebsel
There might be a "you have messages in #indieweb-x", but that can be annoying when repeated.
#
sebsel
That sounds good!
#
aaronpk
oh maybe i could do something with PMs too
#
aaronpk
Loqi could PM you that you have a !tell in -meta when you say something in -dev
#
sebsel
Trigger in all channels, but with PM?
#
sebsel
ah, yes!
#
aaronpk
i think i still like the actual message repeated in the channel itself so i wouldn't want to lose that
#
sebsel
And keep the message in the channel still.

#
sebsel
Yeah this would just add to that.
#
sknebel
a "this person doesn't regularly use IRC, please contact them somewher else instead" would also be helpful sometimes
#
sknebel
ppl joining and getting half a year old "hey, can you make it next week" notices happens occasionally
#
sebsel
!tell sl007 I'll bring my normal photo camera (which takes nice video) + Gorillapod, and my kind of crappy webcam, which has 720p if I recall correctly. And I will bring the ordered Dutch AH-foods, and my laptop.
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
#
sebsel
(all the expensive stuff :'( )
#
sebsel
sknebel well, they would only trigger after someone sent a message, right? then it's too late.
#
sknebel
to late for what?
#
sebsel
For "oh, in that case I will not send a message"
#
sebsel
Or what is the behaviour you want there?
#
sknebel
just don't register the message then
#
sebsel
No, it might be a more timeless message? How would Loqi know?
#
aaronpk
hm, like only allow !tells if the person was last seen relatively recently?
sl007 joined the channel
#
sebsel
Well, yeah, it could suggest just sending an e-mail...
#
sknebel
yeah, "haven't seen them in a while" could be a good heuristic
#
sknebel
was thinking explicit opt-out, but that could work even better
#
sebsel
Autolink to their domain /contact :P
#
Zegnat
Don’t tell me I need to add a /contact now
#
sknebel
ys, linking homepage would be better
#
sknebel
(or checking if /contact exists ;))
#
sebsel
No, I was joking in that part, sorry :) I 404 on /contact too
#
sebsel
But I do think a "this person has not been online for two months, so I can't take a message" would be a good feature indeed.
#
aaronpk
can you add these ideas to /Loqi/
#
sebsel
what is Loqi?
#
Loqi
Loqi is a friendly and useful bot present in the IndieWeb discussion channels https://indieweb.org/Loqi
#
sknebel
sebsel thanks for the fix, I thought I did that ;)

sebsel
adding the feature too :)
