I'd recommend this exercise for anyone who wants to improve the "first arrival" experience on the IndieWeb wiki
#
[tantek]
start at the home page or at the sidebar and click a link, see if the transition feels "good" and it the top of the page you navigated to at least somewhat answers what you were looking for. If not, consider how you could you edit it to not remove existing explanations, but improve design, microcopy etc. to maintain existing meaning and adding more.
#
[tantek]
assume that any existing meaning in a page is there to serve a particular audience and just because it wasn't what *you* expected, it may be what someone else expected. so don't take away from that, but add to it.
#
[tantek]
anyone here can do this exercise and incrementally improve the "landing" experience accordingly.
#
[tantek]
obviously larger magnitude changes (like three column homepage) will need more explicit design and collaboration, and likely prototyping to figure out.
#
[tantek]
yet that shouldn't stop anyone from making incremental improvements in the meanwhile, to any page
