wow the github branch protection rule descriptions are really not obvious
#

I want to set it up so that nothing can be pushed to master directly, and instead requires a pull request review by another person. I know this is possible, but I can't figure out how even reading the help pages.
#

the copy is just so bad
#
aaronpk
"[ ]: Restrict who can push to matching branches." "Specify people or teams allowed to push to matching branches."
#
aaronpk
does that mean if it is checked, then I allow certain people to push? but if it is not checked, nobody can push? or everyone can push?
#
aaronpk
aha, I have to have three boxes checked to do what I want: https://media.aaronpk.com/Screen-Shot-2019-02-09-18-08-58-AWHBlvdBO6.jpg

"Require pull request reviews before merging", "Include administrators", and "Restrict who can push to matching branches"
#

wait I might not need the last one
#

aha I don't. it still prevents me from pushing to master even as an administrator

A less than 30 second mp4 is tiny though, even compared to e.g. a gif. So things should be fine, I imagine

It looks like we don't have a page for "Nimbus" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Nimbus is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#

QuickTime didn’t want to export higher than 480p, and then still gives you a mov file that needs converting for better browser compatibility (in my experience). So it may be simple to start, but feels like it adds more complexity between recording and publishing
