Talked to someone today leading up Connecticut's reentry event... They want to advertise IndieWebCamp New Haven since April is re-entry month (re-entry in reference to excons and felons getting jobs rather incidivism). Logic being no one cares if you are a convict if you can code.. Want people to leave with website and online resume.. Any objections?

For folks not from US our prison system pretty much the result of 400 years of slavery... And disproportionately hits people of color

considering creating h-event wiki pages for upcoming silo deaths
#
[tantek]
When is the Google+ shutdown?
#
Loqi
what
#
[tantek]
Could that ^^^ instead prompt someone to answer with is YYYY-MM-DD format to auto-create an h-event stub page?
#
[jgmac1106]
I think the silo-death page should just be organized by YYYY-MM-DD rather than upcoming and then dates
#
[jgmac1106]
let the reader read the date and see its upcoming...and then your idea would be great
#
[jgmac1106]
hey where would outlook pull an OG:summary for a wiki page...the preview I get in outlook does not match the current page but an older page
#
[tantek]
sounds like a problem with stale metadata
#
[tantek]
silo-deaths aren't the only events or things upcoming
#
[jgmac1106]
ohh okay I tought you meant just make the /silo-death page a list of h-events
#
[jgmac1106]
though one day when I do have time I would love to just organize by YYYY-MM-DD make manitenance easier..upcoming, soonest first, any day now, then past ....that's a lot of content, then past to shift to keep page current
#
[jgmac1106]
tantek is metadata cached my side?
#
[jgmac1106]
I wouldn't mind but it is a link to an event and would have wrong info in the preview..I am just going to delete the preview but want to know for future
#
[tantek]
who knows? that's the problem of using invisible metadata like OG: metacrap
#
[tantek]
so best to just not bother, and yes, delete the preview (on what site?)

one reason to create the upcoming HWC pages in advance, and make sure your city is in them, is that Kaja will summarize HWC dates & cities on the *home page* for you - which as we just saw in #indieweb, is a point of discovery / entry for new folks!
#
[tantek]
perhaps we should have a goal of having HWC event pages created 1+ month in advance? is that reasonable?

The bookmarking service CiteULike is shutting down on March 30, 2019 after a 15 year run. While some may turn to yet-another-silo or walled garden I highly recommend going #IndieWeb and owning all of your own bookmarks on your own website. https://boffosocko.com/2019/02/28/citeulike-is-shutting-down-on-march-30-2019/
