#[tantek]Curious to see what the follow-up will say - since the tweet thread kept moving the goal posts etc. and all the other things [schmarty] pointed out.
#[jgmac1106]We should try for better representation here: https://indieweb.org/code-of-conduct for reporting, see if there are any members who do not identify as male willing to be a reporter, people of color as well, please consider volunteering for this important role. Never know when your help might be needed
#[tantek][jgmac1106] indeed I think that's something all the /organizers would agree on - and we have done so at events where we have a more diverse set of organizers. which starts from more diverse participation at events, which starts from outreach. <-- that's a good place to start if you have time to help recruit for HWC and IWC events.
#[tantek]It's important to have people feel they are part of the community before putting any kind of burden like reporting on their shoulders.
#GWGThat reminds me. Better go handle my hotel reservation
#GWGRoom for New Haven confirmed. Single bed, but there's a sofabed if anyone wants to rent it from me.
#[jgmac1106]exactly why I didn't ask anyone in specific, I think we added that in the IWC planning guide
#[jgmac1106][tantek] maybe we should start putting it on the individual IWC pages, who you can report to, if it isn't already, then when these pages get copied the practice will grow
#[tantek][jgmac1106]++ good suggestion to put CoC contacts on individual IWC pages, also because it’s likely to be different people (organizers) on each one
#Loqi[jgmac1106] has 52 karma in this channel over the last year (124 in all channels)
#aaronpkIIRC the list of contacts on the code of conduct page is specifically for the ongoing not-in-person community, like in chat, wiki, etc. definitely need a separate list for each event.
#[jgmac1106]ohh yes agree, just wanted to put the call out for ongoing volunteers without specifically asking people
#[jgmac1106]you need to be comfortable with the role
#[tantek][jgmac1106] saw your edit didn’t add actual names. As an organizer please at least immediately add yourself
#GWGjgmac1106, I have a New Haven question for you
#GWGWhat do you know about the area off Exit 46 of I-95?
#[jgmac1106]Industrial transitioning to large scale retail. What you need to check is transportation time to New Haven... I can pick you up each morning.

#[jgmac1106]That is about 10-15 to venue, not bad. There is a furniture store with New England's largest indoor rope course if interested
#[jgmac1106]You also get easy access to food truck alley, some of best food in city
#GWGI don't know if anyone would want ride sharing from Long island
#[jgmac1106]Okay perfect. Katz's in Woodbridge is probably the closest of Connecticut's more famous Jewish delis
#jeremycherfasDo you take the ferry. I remember doing that a couple of decades ago. Can’t remember the ports. Maybe East London and the past Fire Island.
#[jgmac1106]Westville Kosher Grocery also has some good takeout
#[jgmac1106]Yes but the Long Island Ferry goes to New London.. You are close
#[jgmac1106]Actually really close (close being 30 minutes) to my house
#[jgmac1106]But New Haven is closer to New York. Quicker to train... The brave drive. 95 from the GW bridge through Greenwich some of the worst traffic in US
#GWGI would suggest hosting a party, but I had to agree no parties
#GWGWhat are the eating plans for New Haven? Lunch and possible evening communal eating?
#LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "eating plans for New Haven" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "eating plans for New Haven is ____", a sentence describing the term)

#[jgmac1106]We are just currently about to start sponsorship push. So far have Sat carbs and coffee covered. Haven't chosen communal meal. Will not be doing the Pepe's thing
#GWGjgmac1106, maybe I should invite everyone to a pre event at my hotel. I could host dinner
#[jgmac1106]let's wait and see the numbers first that is a neat idea. Some people aren't comfortable sitting in other people's hotel rooms as well. Near the venue good Jamaican, Pub food, Sushi, Thai, Italian
