@sadike25 your @withknown site is ready, once you make your account you can begin playing. We will have everything ready to do a demo and tutorial at Wednesday's #indieWeb and #OER meet up. (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/bYhHn)

↩️ Fair enough, but the comparison offered that interpretation. So, how might these newer and more urgent movements get started – and how might they avoid becoming as insular and ineffective as the IndieWeb movement can often appear?

↩️ And Paul is correct, though #IndieWeb as ineffective not sure I can see where folks are getting their evidence. We have ten events on three continents this week alone. #IndieWeb is effective because it begins with you. (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/1FsbXK)

↩️ I see it as being ineffective in that its specifications haven’t seen mainstream adoption (though not a surprise given they exist to disrupt incumbent silos). Also, compare popularity of IndieWeb events to those of say, WordCamp, and you might better understand my point.

↩️ Could also say that is what makes it effective. You don't need widespread adoption by commercial silos. Just some place online you control preferably from your own domain #IndieWeb And WordCamp and IndieWebCamp both rooted in BarCamp… https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/03/16/paulrobertlloyd-could-also-say-that-is-what

↩️ Having regular, conveniently timed events in the form of homebrew clubs but more akin to a codebar event is something I'd encourage. IndieWeb can be seen as too specialised/advanced and not very diverse for many that presents barriers to attending. (https://calumryan.com/note/2497)

↩️ I agree and thanks for running events for so long. I think our introduction of the IndieWeb Meet Up as a way to learn more is great idea. I think this work works in all communities if we put in the work of just asking and teaching. (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/htWNV)

↩️ @paulrobertlloyd all for critical self study around diversity and inclusion. Happy people in #IndieWeb community doing the work, have little time for voices shouting about how bad a hole we dug who won't pick up a shovel to help fill it… https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/03/16/calum_ryan-paulrobertlloyd-all-for-critical-self-study

Oh great more people whining about how indieweb hasn't achieved mass adoption because clearly that's the only metric of success
