has the notion for pre-recording talks for vHWC been proposed before?
#
jalcine
what is vhwc
#
Loqi
Virtual HWC is an online Homebrew Website Club for IndieWebbers who either can’t make a regular meeting or don’t yet have critical mass to host one in their area https://indieweb.org/vHWC
#
jalcine
hmm nothing there

jalcine, I do not think so for vHWC. For IWCs: definitely

hopefully we'll be able to figure out a way to easily automatically add "Add to Calendar" buttons/links to our events in general (perhaps via templates) so you'll be able to add events you can be at 🙂
#
Zegnat
First, work meeting. Then, email writing to secure a Summit Remote Viewing Party venue. Just received a name of someone to contact :D
#
Zegnat
This idea has really latched itself into my brain
#
[Rose]
I'm super excited by the idea
#
Zegnat
It sounds like, as long as we make it a public event (duh), we may be able to get the old courthouse and even get them to setup the audio/video equipment so we can have the live stream running

As in, the Portland stream on a screen, not as in we have cameras. I do not think they have equipment for us to live stream

I potentially will have some equipment for that
#
[Rose]
I have spare iPads and iPhones running around at least - and a GoPro
#

Though apparently my GoPro is not one that can stream, grr.
#
[Rose]
If we get that far we can figure something out I'm sure
#
[Rose]

Oh, wow, it is not at all clear if we have some sort of default Tito setup or not. I wouldn’t dare create the different types of tickets now (regular vs Indie RSVP) without knowing what they mean
#
Zegnat
I guess this is why [jgmac1106] said to duplicate an older event. But even then, I wouldn’t know which one is safe for duplication and which is not. It needs to be compatible with 2019.indieweb.org I guess, but also compatible with the parameters set for Berlin (e.g. no fees?)
#
Zegnat
Running to a meeting now. Will have a shot when I get back to my desk. I guess I can just duplicate one and see what happens, and take notes along the way.

#
Jeremycherfas
You're making me regret my decision to use tito. It isn't too late for me.
#
Zegnat
It looks really nice, I am just afraid that whatever I try to use will not be compatible with 2019.indieweb.org

jeremerycherfas
#
[jgmac1106]
it isn't a probelm at all, you do it once and you know how
#
[jgmac1106]
I just meant it more in the terms if you are studying UX and have to do a paper this a perfect example of how how 2-3 new buttons would be such a more intuitive design
#
Jeremycherfas
Right. Well, just polishing the copy on a new course I am offering and will then create tickets.
#
[jgmac1106]
ohh cool idea can't wait to see what you built

OK, got the event copied, got the ticket price set to 0 and the Support the Indieweb is currently paused (as in, not sure we want to activate that option for Berlin)

additional outcome of the pipdig fiasco: there is a sea of WordPress bloggers out there, who, while have their site and domain, are definitely generation 4, because all they do is pay a hosted WP provider. They don't own their data, but if they are lucky, the domain might be under their own name.
