Finally getting my first renders from WDHAN, the static web generator I'm building on C# for use in IndieWeb. I've still got a few kinks to work out, but this may someday rival @jekyllrb in what it's capable of (thinking Git-based Wikipedia clone?) https://madebyemil.github.io/wdhan-basic/

I'd like to see a citation for that. Messing with an email and making it garbage should not predicate people lose their minds and send the next one unencrypted, which seems to be what they rail about further on

What is Unitive
#
Loqi
unitive or unitive web is an alternative movement to Indieweb, with a broader remit to re-organise the entire internet from large key-providers using something they call "Spontaneous order" https://indieweb.org/Unitive

Had not seen that Unitive project yet. Couldn’t make it through the YouTube video at all. Felt a lot like “this is what the web will look like a decade from now if we do all this” rather than an actual presentation of tech

↩️ I haven't looked specifically at AP for static sites but I imagine it's a no-go. Also, it has thick layer of unnecessary complexity because it is a federated protocol. You might find something more appropriate over at https://indieweb.org/Getting_Started Or, you know, RSS still works.

Are we still maintaining the redirect at https://indieweb.org/next-hwc ? How might we continue to do so? Point it to appropriate upcoming events on meetable? Is there a way to maintain the impressive calendar/list of events on the HWC page that provides some solid social evidence of an ongoing concern?
#
aaronpk
https://events.indieweb.org/archive shows the full list of past events
#
aaronpk
as in, the new events home page is a better place to see what's coming up next than that wiki page
#
aaronpk
the archive view on the wiki is kind of fun, we could still maintain that with links to the events.indieweb.org pages
#
[chrisaldrich]
so we should have the /next-hwc redirect to the events page as most appropriate? or to https://events.indieweb.org/tag/hwc?
#
aaronpk
there's no reason to be more specific than that IMO
#
[chrisaldrich]
tougher question, is there an easy way to do a redirect of a wiki page to an off-wiki page? The typical wiki syntax doesn't look like it will work...
#
aaronpk
no but i can do it on the server

I could have Kaja spew out a template with the date of the next HWC for the sidebar?

oh that'd be great

(also the 2019 gift calendar could maybe removed from the sidebar)
#

#
aaronpk
maybe there's a setting tho
#
aaronpk
oh i figured it out
#
aaronpk
the sidebar code still needs both parts, but either one can be a template
#
aaronpk
so you can update https://indieweb.org/Template:next-hwc to change the text in the sidebar. the URL in the sidebar is fixed to https://events.indieweb.org/tag/hwc tho
