Wondering where to add a post about a hugo theme for publishing a zettelkasten as a website. The post is here https://forum.zettelkasten.de/discussion/1229/hugo-theme-ofr-publishing-your-archive but it is not the sort of thing I do, so I am not sure where it might fit best.
#
[jgmac1106]
jermeycherfas is it a wiki CMS/LMS all of the above?
#
[jgmac1106]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zettelkasten would you say similar or different than?Common_place book?
#
[jgmac1106]
If similar maybe there? if different it's own page?
#
jeremycherfas
Zettelkasten is more than a commonplace book, it is a system of taking and connecting notes in a kind of outboard brain. You could certainly keep a commonplace book using zettel principles, but it offers all sorts of other possibilities too. I know chrisaldrich has talked about publishing personal wikis to the web. This theme is the sort of thing that would interest people interested in doing that.

Hmm, so the VCs who funded a voice chat server with 1500 users at $100M valuation are looking for blog tools? Should we be afraid?
#
jacky
wait really?
#
[tantek]
yay what aaronpk? "Jul 22, 2020" is still in the future. I really think we should have a law against allowing bots access to the future timeline like that
#
aaronpk
it's the date/time of the event
#
aaronpk
i figured just "Homebrew Website Club West Coast" would be too ambiguous
#
aaronpk
it's not the time of the edit
#
[tantek]
ok that's ambiguous. it very much reads as Updated noun on date
#
[tantek]
not that date is part of noun
#
aaronpk
i think putting the event name in quotes isn't helping
#
[tantek]
especially when noun is specifically delimited by quotation marks making it appear self-enclosed
#
jacky
ah gotcha
#
aaronpk
maybe i'll start by taking out the quotes
#
[tantek]
since this is just an update here in chat, maybe use an ISO date and prefix the event name instead, inside the quotes?
#
[tantek]
or that
#
aaronpk
you're all smart people, I assume you realize that it's not july 22nd right now
#
[tantek]
either way, "2020-07-22 18:00 Homebrew Website Club West" reads more like an event
#
aaronpk
not sold on iso date but putting the date first does help
#
aaronpk
multi-day events are really uglly with ISO dates
#
aaronpk
right now it'll say "July 22 - 23, 2020" which is a lot more readable than 2020-07-22..23 or whatever

(carried ovr from #indieweb-chat’s post on organising https://tantek.com/2020/187/b1/changes-indieweb-organizing-indiewebcamp-west I thought would it be useful maybe to have a pool of volunteers that can serve as a ‘buddy’ to new organisers and be their go-to/on-call person during both the run-up to an event, as well as during? It’s different from providing general documentation/tips, or discussing how to organise with someone in general. Having someone a
