[manton] On the topic of MIME types… I just realized that application/rss+xml was never officially registered, even though it’s (obviously) in widespread use everywhere.

[manton] Maybe we should just run with this and then register it at a later point. JSON Feed 1.1 has been done for months but I felt like this was holding it up, so didn’t want to officially announce it.

aaronpk I mean there's value to some people to see it in the IETF registry, but that's not actually any sort of technical mechanism

[manton] Yeah. I also noticed that someone already updated Wikipedia to say application/feed+json. That is much more likely to be noticed than the IANA page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSON_Feed

[manton] Another thing I discovered yesterday in the MIME type rabbit hole… There is an RFC for Markdown that is just for the MIME type, not the full spec. That seems like an elegant hack that I plan to look into for JSON Feed.
