GWG: [tantek] left you a message 17 hours ago: WDYT of [chrisaldrich]'s inspirational IndieWeb posters as placeholder material to have on the Zoom room in HWC when you've opened the room and are waiting for the official start time?
#

I didn't have time to add posters

How cool would it be if the @HemingwayApp were also a Micropub client? I'd love to be able to use it to publish to a variety of websites. #IndieWeb (http://boffosocko.com/2020/12/02/55781976/)

@Cambridgeport90
Still wondering why this stuff isn’t going out to the rest of the world, and I recently read something about combining the #IndieWeb with the fediverse. That looks freaking cool! Ideally we’ll see a bland between that and IndieAuth; can’t wait, and maybe… https://cambridgeport90.org/?p=114

Additional context for just above: I think she was reading https://boffosocko.com/2020/12/02/lemmy-a-clever-looking-link-conversation-hub/ which referenced the Fediverse, Aaron and IndieAuth.

[Raphael_Luckom] over the years we occasionally get new folks dropping by to just help improve the wiki, or indieweb messaging etc., without zero or very little actual indieweb presence themselves, so instead we redirect them to hey go work on your own website first to demonstrate that you're actually a "doer" in this community before claiming to understand what's best for the community
#
[tantek]
or to put it another way, it's pretty darn arrogant folks (in general, not directed at anyone here in particular to be clear) to show up claiming to know how to "fix" various community things, wiki, site UX etc. but without actually being an active participant in the community

What is the IndieWeb shibboleth?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "IndieWeb shibboleth" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "IndieWeb shibboleth is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek]
I sure hope we don't do that
#
[tantek]
shibboleth's tend to be very insulary and unwelcoming
#
[KevinMarks]
or did you mean the identity protocol?
#
Loqi
Shibboleth is among the world’s most widely deployed federated identity solutions, connecting users to applications both within and between organizations. Every software component of the Shibboleth system is free and open source. Shibboleth is an o...
#
[tantek]
if he did, that's a #indieweb-dev question 😛
#
[KevinMarks]
or the answer is 'our shibboleth is indieauth'
#
[chrisaldrich]
the informal shibboleth is "are you doing or attempting to do something on your own website"... but it's not one that anyone goes to any length to actually enforce... I meant it as a bit of a wink.
#
[tantek]
petermolnar, closest we have right now is /wikify

or perhaps there's a MediaWiki extension or patch to handle trailing comma 404s by attempting to redirect to the URL without the trailing comma?
