#capjamesg[Paul_Robert_Ll] Agreed on there being two interest groups.
#capjamesgI have noticed this in hosting HWCs. While the odd talk of Webmention pops up, the discussion rarely trends toward standards. When it does, it is usually 2-3 people who are really interested in the discussion.

#capjamesgI think the coupling of more technical web protocol talk and standards is too close. I would argue we need a web channel that is exclusively for HTML/CSS. Someone joining a channel where on any given day there may be talk of authentication, Webmention internals, etc. may not feel welcome.
#[Paul_Robert_Ll]Agreed. And this thread being in #indieweb-meta when started out in #indieweb, and now Iām not sure where should be chatting feels like a case in point!
#capjamesgImagine if I ran a community that spoke about coffee for beginners and the deep internals of coffee (physics, chemistry, etc.).
#capjamesgBoth groups love coffee but in different ways.
#capjamesgIād take very different approaches to moderating discussions in both cases, and having both groups actively in the same discussion would be harder to moderate and likely to lead to people drifting away.
