sunday might be the wrong time to start a microformats discussion, but here goes!

i'd like to post about 3d printing projects on my own site, to "own my makes" or "own my things", as it were.

first up i'd like to "own my makes" - basically posting photos of the result of completing a project that is another person's design. here's a silo example from thingiverse:

for a post on my own site, i am thinking that the minimum post is an h-entry with u-photo/u-featured, and u-in-reply-to that points to the url of the original "thing" page which contains their source files for 3d printing.

but i could also see a next step, including an embedded h-product with name, url, and embedded brand (with the author's information)

that got me thinking about how to represent other types of "thing" posts. it might work to have my "thing" pages be an h-product at the top level, with general information about the thing, photos, etc being handled w/ the usual properties.

and the individual design files that need to be printed could be embedded h-items, with photo, name, and link to the file for printing.

i guess it doesn't matter what i call it until something out there consumes it?
