sknebel
heh, I got php-mf2 to return an object with "type": []
rodolfojcj_ joined the channel
#
sknebel
less interesting than I thought. it does that for all invalid root class names starting with h- :/
#
Zegnat
“invalid root class names”? There is no such thing though, right?
#
Loqi
[sknebel] #127 elements with invalid class names beginning with "h-" are parsed as mf with empty type
#
Zegnat
Oh, invalid that way, interesting
#
sknebel
invalid root class name is maybe bad wording. for all class names that start with "h-" but are not valid root class names

#
Zegnat
A class that is not /([hpue]|dt)\-[a-z\-]/ should just be ignored? What about case-insensitivity?
#
sknebel
think so, and afaik it's explicitly lower-case only, I think to avoid some u-Stuff confusion?
#
sknebel
admittedly a minor thing, but since I hit it accidentially
#
sknebel
I'm more interested to hear if my other bug is valid, or if I misunderstood the value-class rules
#
Zegnat
The timezone one?
#
Zegnat
takes a look
#
Zegnat
I think you understood the parsing rules correctly and there is a bug in the parser somewhere
rodolfojcj_ joined the channel
#
Zegnat
There is no code for timezones in the parser at all, if I am reading this correctly, sknebel
#
sknebel
okay, that'd explain it :P

Commented with what I found in the code.

Does anyone know the best way to contact @glennjones? About his Node MF2 parser.
nitot joined the channel
#
Zegnat
[shaners] there are several ways to contact him listed on his website and about page, if he isn’t reacting on GitHub
#
[shaners]
thanks. I DMed him.
#
gRegorLove
I'm working on datetime stuff in php-mf2, should be able to add separate VCP parsing for timezone while I'm in there.
#
gRegorLove
Based on http://microformats.org/wiki/value-class-pattern##However+the+colons and https://github.com/microformats/tests/issues/29, I'm going to have it normalize the timezone offsets to not have colons, too.
#
gRegorLove
I think that's the one exception to "keep as close as possible to how it was originally authored"
#
gRegorLove
mf-node normalizes the tz offset
#
[shaners]
I added logos to the “Examples in the Wild” section.
#
[shaners]
If there are other good ones, add them to a GitHub Issue and I’ll add them.
#
Zegnat
gRegorLove++ for the quick response to sknebel’s bugs!

[shaners] what do you think about adding a small section to microformats.io explaining when you'd use each prefix?
#
Loqi
[skippy] what does the u- prefix mean?
#
Loqi
[skippy] i dont recall seeing that explained anywhere. was curious.

!tell shaners: I ++ explaining the prefixes. That was one of the most confusing pieces for me when I started
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next

I’m emailing GitHub about getting microformats back on their site. Aside from profile <> h-card, what should I mention?
