gRegorLove, typical CMOS/APA styling only italicizes *part* of the citation, that's the problem with using <cite> for the entire h-cite, at least with default styling

this just straight up describes formats for date/age/time strings. i guess they're "subformats" for the larger GEDCOM standard... but they're not related to microformats.org in any way.

sounds more like they're subformats for ELF which is a deliberate fork of GEDCOM. Good luck with that - GEDCOM is quite well established.
