[schmarty] this just straight up describes formats for date/age/time strings. i guess they're "subformats" for the larger GEDCOM standard... but they're not related to microformats.org in any way.

[tantek] sounds more like they're subformats for ELF which is a deliberate fork of GEDCOM. Good luck with that - GEDCOM is quite well established.
