# Loqi [@dfstarshine] The awfulness and disappointment surrounding the Ladybird developers just emboldens my view that the real solution to the browser problem is to build a less bloated web. Building a browser shouldn't be an undertaking comparable to building an operating system.... (https://icosahedron.website/@dfstarshine/112718042147106700)

# Loqi [manton.org] I’m a little puzzled about why the new proposed fediverse:creator tag is only for approved web sites. Just a slow rollout? Clearly it’s most useful for news organizations with multiple writers, where there’s not a one-to-one mapping between author and fediverse account. # [tantek] [manton]++ indeed it seems like something that should have been built on top of rel=author instead, and perhaps something we can still do if we take time to understand the full extent of the use-case that Mastodon is trying to solve (beyond the journalist subset of audience). I think we discussed it in #indieweb-dev a while ago, and perhaps we can iterate on that topic some more there

# Loqi A quick note on cross-posting... (https://nicksimson.com/notes/posse-2024/)
# Loqi [@michael] Am I the only one who finds it weird that mastodon has decided to invent a whole new open graph tag for this purpose, rather than use the already moderately widely used rel="author" attribute? ... (https://mstdn.thms.uk/@michael/112719011268582764)
# Loqi [@caesar] This will be a nice feature if/when it's opened up to people other than big news publishers, but I'm disappointed that @Mastodon decided to roll their own opengraph meta tag instead of using the existing web standard `link rel="author"`....
