#j12tI'm basically wondering why there are so many. User has to install them separately, update them separately, and can make mistakes such as mistakenly turn one off.

#[asuh]j12t: My understanding is that the plugins will slowly be combined where possible and hopefully removed once WordPress devs enter more of the mf2 classes into core. It’s been a battle of explaining why and how from my my reading. That said, I think even with so many plugins, there’s room for a better UX for this process
#j12tasuh: that makes sense. For UBOS purposes, I wonder whether I should just declare a mandatory dependency between the indieweb plugin and a few others, and then the user will always get all and needs to do less work.

#[asuh]j12t: I wouldn’t recommend this because, depending on the theme, you won’t need to activate all the plugins. You can find some Indieweb compatible themes that others have built and it would make at least one or two of the plugins redundant, such as the mf2 plugin.
#j12tasuh: I understand. I meant to only ask about indieweb, webmention and semantic linkbacks

#[mrkrndvs]GWG I tested 3.0.0 and photos are all good, also like how elements within response properties disappear when not in use. Is there anything else in particular that you would like me to test?
#GWG[mrkrndvs]: No, I want to wrap up this version and release it and possibly work on new features in a second release."
#[mrkrndvs]I was wondering, maybe dreaming, of a Bookmark / Like Bookmarklet that would allow me to select a piece of text and have this populated in the Summary / Quotation field. Just a thought ...
#[mrkrndvs]Not sure that is anything to do with the plugin though ...
#[miklb]j12t the IndieWeb plugin isn’t required, it is meant as a starting point and plugin installer for the other community plugins. It does offer some h-card support, but a user could create that themselves.
#[miklb]Also keep in mind, except for the IndieWeb plugin and mf2 theme helper plugin, all of the IW plugins are personal projects, not community. So finding consensus on how to keep them working together but still be individually developed plugins is an ongoing conversation
#[miklb]Unless someone were to take on the responsibility of merging all of the plugins and maintaining it, there will never be “one IW plugin to rule them all.”
#[miklb]is [pfefferle]’s ZenPress making a child theme.
#[mrkrndvs]I thought it might be a mobile issue so clicked desktop site in the settings but still nothing. When I start a new post from scratch on phone it works fine
#[miklb]I didn’t seem to have any problems with the latest code in the GitHub repo for creating a child theme with ZenPress. I am however going to build my stylesheet from the Sass files and modify that way, just use the existing markup/templates as much as possible.
#[miklb]I really want to get my food blog up, thus why I decided to do a ZenPress child theme. Plus, it seems a lot cleaner looking than I remember it, so fits my aesthetic a lot more, so won’t need to tweak too much to get started. Then I’ll just keep tweaking the template & start working on a redesign of miklb.com
#[miklb]that will probably all be custom code, cribbed from what I’ve already got & Zenpress/mf2 plugin
#[miklb]I still want a stripped down mf2 theme as a starting point for other projects, so will complete that as part of my redesign.
