#[jgmac1106]@gwg woke up to a flat tire and no hot water so day can only get better.
#[jgmac1106]Working on my grant application, I have a visiting Chinese scholar studying under me so will go meet him and probably have to do the "New Haven Pizza Tourism day"... Oh its Monday most closed. Sweet
#[jgmac1106]If if have WordPress time going to try and finish my beginner write up of each theme and then move onto the plug-ins
#[jgmac1106]I think the theme I was testing Fluida did work but webmention didn't come back for a day or so. Popped up yesterday

#[eddie]That log is super helpful. Nothing stood out right now, and I'm actually about to run out the door in about 3 minutes But I will definitely take a closer look at that when I get back. Hopefully that will help me figure out whats going wrong
#[miklb]if you need a WordPress account with all the latest versions of the plugin installed for testing, I can add you to indiewp.com if that would help.
#[miklb]Quill works, Omnibear will authenticate but can’t post, Indigenous nothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
#[miklb]last time I checked, micropub.rocks passed, but I’m waiting on a new email to test latest versions of all of the plugins
#[miklb]yep, passes all of the 600 and 800 tests as well as 100 and 200
#aaronpkI think omnibear is assuming the authorization endpoint URL doesn't have a query string. it ends up building a bad URL for me
#aaronpkoh boy, I just tried on my local micropub.rocks and wordpress and getting 401 unauthorized now. but it says: Unauthorized (Micropub) Scopes: [\"create\",\"update\",\"delete\",\"undelete\"]
#[miklb]I’d like to clarify that I’m not certain the issues aren’t on my end with my frankenserver
#aaronpkGWG: my indieauth is failing because there is no user record in wordpress with a URL that matches the blog URL. but that shouldn't matter for a single-user site. I thought we had fixed this?
#[eddie]hmm miklb everything in the gist looks fine to me, I don't see any information that seems amiss
#[eddie]Wondering because of your frankenserver mention. If it is on the same server, I might set up my own WP install to test on just to rule out any issues not on your server first.
#[eddie]But if indiewp.me is on a different server than miklb.com then an account on there would be helpful to debug
#GWGIs it possible to replace the menacing icon for anonymous comments with a friendlier one? Many of our readers refer to it as the “scary detective”.
#GWGI took the opportunity to fix some other stuff too

#[asuh]GWG, I probably haven’t done enough reading to understand this, but what is the thought behind SL plugin having its own anonymous Gravatar icon that is currently user-secret.svg? What’s the advantage of providing this vs using the default icon in WordPress?
#GWGasuh, it was a mistake in implementation. Part of the privacy enhancements. I fixed it two weeks ago, pfefferle is releasing it now.
#GWGSo, the plugin was requesting gravatars for webmentions that didn't even have email addresses
#GWGSo, the fixes store a locally cached copy of the default mystery man gravatar and use that if there is no email on file.
#aaronpkomg that's way creepier than I thought it was
#GWGIf you want to go further, I recommend Avatar Privacy. Active developer who is a Semantic Linkbacks user.
#[asuh]Caching avatars, especially now with GDPR and privacy needs, should already be a default of WordPress. I’m happy to know it’s a priority for at least SL.
#[asuh]Are these enhancements that I could include in my own custom Walker class?
#[asuh]I’d imagine that if I can use the Walker class example in SL plugin and just add/subtract from that, and then include in my local functions.php, it would be the same thing right?
#[asuh]It’s two things for me: 1) I want to customize markup inside the commenting section to my liking and 2) I’ve been wanting to try out adding schema.org microdata to see what happens
#[asuh]These are both personal preferences or interests rather than changes that should go inside of the plugin
