# [jgmac1106] Gwg what's up?
# [jgmac1106] chrisaldrich why do you think I left WordPress? Writing a book shouldn't be that hard.
# [jgmac1106] Yeah it is fun just going through installatron and trying random stuff
# [jgmac1106] But really a book theme would be easy.. Pressbook gets heavy if a shared host needs to charge more...
# [jgmac1106] Remix adactio's book. I stripped out the AMP pages, made some early navigation mistakes but good template. Uses multiple images rather than resizing img which I updated

# [jgmac1106] [chrisaldrich] is it for publishers then? Like a reseller. Though Reclaim has a ton of institutional customers... Probably a smart up sell.. And you say it requires more
# chrisaldrich PressBooks is doing some generally heavy lifting in terms of the additional lifting it's doing which makes it far less than your average beast. In fact they say specifically not to add pressbooks on top of a pre-existing WordPress install as it will cause major problems.
# chrisaldrich It's probably best to think of PressBooks as a WordPress fork that's been heavily customized for book publishing.
# chrisaldrich jgmac1106, the tough question is what and how should an online book look like? There are lots of ways to accomplish it.
# chrisaldrich kfitz had an interesting way of implementing her book writing and implementing years ago.
# chrisaldrich iirc, she did it on http://mediacommons.org/
# chrisaldrich moving to #indieweb...

# GWG Coding Standards Updates for PHP 5.6 https://make.wordpress.org/core/2019/03/26/coding-standards-updates-for-php-5-6/
# petermolnar past events: how much control do you have over of your theme, [Rose]?
# petermolnar digging his archives for code
# petermolnar damn. I forgot my wp theme was twig based, I can't use that code.
# [jgmac1106] [Rose] for events?
# [jgmac1106] I am real close on hacking two plugins
# [jgmac1106] I just accidentally injected in one h-entry in my theme.. Have a meeting now.. But will share if meeting gets boring
# [jgmac1106] if my theme didn't inject the h-entry it would be fine, I need to move the enddate time
# [jgmac1106] [Rose] you or @gwg could easily hack on this plugin only needs a few changes
# [jgmac1106] Event Calendar WD is what I am working on

# [jgmac1106] will do my best to convince gwg an event in postkinds or (what I think is better approach) hacking on a existing plugins is something we could do this weekend in New Haven
# [jgmac1106] we can wait and see who the audience is...keep hearing people say they are coming but only have 6 RSVPs...

# [kimberlyhirsh] jgmac1106 closing in on the keynote. Are those 6 RSVPs old hands at IndieWeb or new, and familiar with edtech space or no?

# [jgmac1106] good mix... most of the remote participation coming from the education and #DoOO space, may tangentially know IndieWeb, I can go first and cover basics if you want unless @gwg or [tmiller] want to do the other keynote
# [kimberlyhirsh] Might make sense to cover basics first. Really hammering it out tonight, but I think I'm going to talk about the Silicon Valley meme of disrupting education and what related opportunities and challenges it presents for IndieWeb.
# [kimberlyhirsh] Framing it more as a set of questions that might be addressed in sessions than as anything to which I have an answer.

# [jgmac1106] I don't think you can do it for a tld but for each individual microblog account
# [jgmac1106] guess technically not tld...but you know what I mean

# [jgmac1106] I have never gotten webmention spam... Unless a random tweet.... But do not count that. Pretty sure we don't have any examples of webmention spam with an endpoint target (yet8
