I wouldn't say they're more fragile, but they have a lot less convergence and fungibility. Every system. Seems to pick a different way of deciding what to hash.

I can see the use for quiet rooms at large conferences, or conferences that have bursts of activity (speakers, workshops, ...) and can offer a down-time in between for those who do not want to mingle. I am not sure the much more community focusses indieweb meetups are at a size where that makes sense? But I can totally see a buddy system work, specifically because we are so community focussed. Pretty sure an admin can undelete but I'd like to understand what's going on first. Assuming some sort of good faith miscommunication / misunderstanding
#
sknebel
seems like they all point at non-existing pages?
#
[tantek]
Agree with Zegnat and schmarty - most (if not all) of those redirects were useful for "what is" or discoverability in general
#
sknebel
(or most, I haven'T checked every single one)
#
[tantek]
Huh? They were all broken redirects? Is that because their destinations were deleted?
#
sknebel
the domain ones seems eddie deleted "domain name registrar" instead of redirecting it to the section he moved the content to.
#
sknebel
the user: pages I looked at either had been requested to be deleted or never existed(?)
#
[tantek]
In general we really shouldn't be deleting things that are harmless. Especially since they may help with search & discovery
#
[tantek]
If something is harmful or irrelevant to IndieWeb then we we should delete it, but those rarely happen
#
[tantek]
I think some of those missing user pages were people that signed in but never created their pages. So their pages are still useful because you can still check user contributions etc
