self-care is a key point here. no organizer should be driving themselves to burnout (disappointment, frustration, etc.), and it's on us (all organizers) to keep each other aware of that and be supportive accordingly.
#
[tantek]
and frankly I do think we need to be honest with ourselves about the likelihood of those downsides of solo organizing, and provide both support and also firm feedback that solo (present) organizer events are probably better postponed until an actually present co-organizer is found.
#
[tantek]
even if the timing of the IWC is adjacent to some other event, we shouldn't let that drive organizers into solo frustration. I think better to encourage a smaller scale optional short meetup to try to build co-organizer interest, then if that's found, try again next year
#
[tantek]
(I'm thinking of what happened with FOSDEM / V... and how we could be better about that balance/mix of being supportive yet also being realistic with each other)
#
[tantek]
not sure how to write this up on /organizers or /IWC etc.

We just posted Core Intuition 361. Looking forward to IndieWebCamp Austin and talking about whether new Marzipan rumors will influence our plans this year. https://coreint.org/2019/02/episode-361-this-is-an-opportunity/

Looking at Sanger's Twitter conversation with aaronpk earlier, I'm wondering if anyone has ever considered having the IndieWeb wiki be able to accept webmentions and potentially add links to the "See also" sections (or a separate webmention section)
#
chrisaldrich
This could be a great way to have websites that link to it be able to begin autodocumenting the wiki at the same time.
#
chrisaldrich
I know the wiki already has a webmention.io account, but are we actively doing anything with that data other than piping it into the chat channels?

as an example, it would be cool to make a read/bookmark post on my site and add a link to a particular indieweb wiki page so that the article could be later added/referenced there...

[aaronpk] I'm going to send you a pull request for a very basic 2019.indieweb.org landing page instead of the redirect. It's not great but I feel like something else needs to be there this week to avoid confusion.
#
chrisaldrich
it might be a cross between something that directories like news.indieweb and indieweb.xyz are doing, but in a more wiki-like fashion?

And it doesn't have to be Known to Known.. Webmentions is a W3C standard, makes the web our network. Webmentions do work and look better with microformats. This is why #IndieWeb struggles in WordPress. It is amazingly hard to add properties to HTML… https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/02/20/and-it-doesnt-have-to-be-known

but basically drewemcweeney add a widget and add in <a href="https:/github/yourusername" rel="me">GitHub</a>

better yet go to micoformats.org/wiki/h-card and add the entire thing in an html side widget
